I used to have a 1989 Nissan Pulsar NX very much like this. That was a good, fun car.

The fanciest Japanese car I ever owned was an 1982 Subaru Forester. I knew it was a standard , but I was stunned it had no power steering. My wife and I have owned Foresters for over 40 years. The all wheel drive and ground clearance is great for Maine snow & ice.
