You could qualify for a well seasoned cowboy who stopped ridin', lost his hat and silver buckle, quit smokin', good manner'd, cool with the naughties, stopped shootin', stopped bootin', but still likes his outdoor barbeque over a tall glass of unsweetened ice tea ?Bob in Iowa said:I am a native Texan.

-- I love to eat foods of a wide variety of ethnic and national origin.
-- I am very adept at eating with chopsticks, and I do not require a menu in English.
-- Water is my favorite beverage
-- I do not own a cowboy hat or a belt with a big silver buckle.
-- I do not smoke.
-- I have no desire to hurt anyone, but I thoroughly believe that I could and would kill in self defense.
-- I tend to ignore noisy and arrogant people.
-- I do own a gun; I keep it clean and in good condition, but have not fired it in many years.
-- I do own a pair of cowboy boots, but they are almost 30 years old, and I seldom wear them any more.
-- I sometimes like eating barbeque beef brisket and pork ribs, corn bread, pinto beans, and greens with a tall glass of unsweetened ice tea, which usually evokes memories of a warm Texas breeze and blue bonnet covered rolling hills.

I looked up the wiki dictionary to be sure, and, it said, etymologically, "The word stereotype originated in the world of printing; it was originally a duplicate impression of an original typographical element, used for printing instead of the original. Over time, this became a metaphor for any set of ideas repeated identically, en masse, with no changes. In fact, cliché and stereotype were both originally printers' words, and in their literal printers' meanings were synonymous. Specifically, cliché was an onomatopoetic word for the sound that was made during the stereotyping process when the matrix hit molten metal."Brooker said:for the blue camp, I'm pretty normal. Why is it that the red camp seems to be defining the stereotypes? Maybe it's because they're a little more extreme.
I was thinking about the fact that I'm not very religious. Now you would think that would be NOT-stereotypical of an American. But, for where I live, it's completely stereotypical, so which column does that trait go into?
I don't know about Earl Grey, but as for Chinese green tea, I'll tell you you're headed for the bad teeth ... one Chinese told me so with so many examples of personal knowledge. But maybe with the American obsession, you might be spared. O, one thing about the whitener, is it safe in the long term ? Here I go again for another hot thread !Brooker said:Oh, here's a "don't fit"... I like tea, and almost never drink coffee. The tea I usually drink is Chinese green tea or British Earl Grey.
I don't know, I'm sure there are many things that are worse for your teeth than green tea, like cola for example. And I would think the reason Chinese people might have bad teeth is probably due mostly to factors other than green tea.lexico said:I don't know about Earl Grey, but as for Chinese green tea, I'll tell you you're headed for the bad teeth ...
I've never used it. My cousin used it when she was a kid and something went wrong and it permanently stained her teeth. Kind of counterproductive, ne?O, one thing about the whitener, is it safe in the long term ? Here I go again for another hot thread !![]()
