Something quite slow and not too intrusive... maybe downbeat classical music, romantic ballads or mellow jazz...? Just something that's not going to be distracting, I think.......

Well, I'm always trying to seduce some young maiden and lure her into my clutches

jokes aside, ummm, i was just sincerely wondering what people here like in terms of romance music or what works for them.I think that music smtimes really has an effect over the atmosphere and what not where 2 ppl may be trying to share with oen and other and discover each other.

Personally I prefer to have some smooth rnb playing if i'm trying to engange in a romantic converstation but just in case i got plenty of genres and variety like slow jazz as kinsao suggested above. I donna, i'm just a big big music lover and whilst i was sorting out my collection today the thought popped into my head

Well, seriously I think good old jazz by Miles Davis would be a good choice for me.

I think smooth Jazz is wonderful for trying to create a romantic setting, I love listening to it at night and I sometimes on my radio station I listen to what they call "The Quiet Storm." It's really calm and relaxing. And Barry White isn't a bad idea, either.

Personally, I find music that has lyrics really distracting. In fact, I find any music really distracting, unless it's played really quietly. But that's just a personal thing (obviously!).

Also it depends if it's in a restaurant or in a situation that you've set up yourself, like in your house. In a restaurant it's not so critical as long as they play quite soft and 'neutral' music. But in your own house, it's clear that you have made the choice of music, so it's necessary to be careful in choosing. For instance, I'd always be nervous of choosing something with lyrics, because I'd be sure the other person would assume I'd chosen them for their significance (Vanilla, anyone? ).

All the slow and mellowish songs that I like are also rather melancholy and miserable... not good choices...

If someone played Barry White at me I would crack up, 'cos that's what we call the dog at the end of our street who has a really deep bark. His real name is Henry.

My favourite romantic song is Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton, but that is too much for seduction. I would say it's best to find out what a person likes. I find Jazz irritating, so that wouldn't work on me. The music wouldn't have to be romantic, just knowing that someone had gone to the trouble to find out what I like would make a better impression.
