buahaha(i shouldn't laugh like this, but it's too funny)
now you've become mad

of course i learn science miss emoni, but my specialty isn't at astronomical
i just know a little, of course i understand what i just said about the moon
if those scientists aren't so arrogant and not stupid plus capable to prove that 'line', then don't just blabbering, if you said that 'it could be there for many reasons', then what.?
what reason do they have to explain that.? we have the reason, and it explain everything

scientists are much smarter than you right.? you agree with that right.?
then, can you explain why there are so many scientists who convert to Islam while they were researching the truth behind Qur'an, there are some scientists in Australia who convert to Islam because they were researching Qur'an, i heard in Europe it's much more people who convert to Islam because the scientific, logical, rational, and proved right about Islam

can you explain those things miss emoni if you think you're smarter than them.?

and mr. Thorham
if you know that your post in this thread will be useless
why are you still posting in here.?
i'm kinda confused with some europeans way of thinking
they talk that they won't do 'blablabla', but they do 'blablabla'

Mr. Emoni, not Miss (although lots of people get my gender wrong here, so you're not alone)

If you want to know possible reasons for that line (which the length isn't shown in those pictures) then simple plate tectonics of course come to mind, something you should have learned in science class. Honestly, I'm not personally interested. If you want to know more, YOU look it up. Maybe that process will get you used to learning how to find accurate information for once. Probably not though.

Your second sentence is so full of basic logical flaws it is frightening, but not surprising based on everything you've written. You claim that "so many scientists are converting" and label them in this group "smarter than..." How about you take step one and actually SHOW proof on the numbers of how many scientists are converting. Here is how you do it.

1) Define which scientists you are speaking of.
2) Gain numbers of this group of scientist.
3) Show proof that a large percentage of this scientific group is converting to Islam for the reasons you stated.

Good luck doing that, I expect you to fail miserably or just post some biased news article that you think is "evidence."

There is now a strong need to invoke its power.

Those appear to be fault lines (fracture lines) shown in the photos. If God split the moon, then "put it back together," then why didn't he finish the job?

God's sloppiness isn't the only explanation, though. Science evidence points to the moon's formation as the result of a collision of the earth with another planet, within the first half-billion years of earth's existence. The moon was torn out as a fragment of molten material that later cooled. As it cooled, its surface may have cracked. Or the crack could have resulted from a meteor strike. The moon is airless and waterless, thus without erosion; the moon shows its entire history on its surface.

Because it fits this thread so well... and the total lack of logic and reason within it.

if you need the details, you can find it by yourself, Qur'an is just showing the core of all knowledge
what's your eyes for.? what's your hearing for.? what's your hand for.? what's your leg for.? and what's your heart for.?
Allah gave those to human aren't just for display
we have to use it to look for the truth
No, my point was quite simple: pain being felt through skin was common knowledge before your prophet's time, that's NOT a miracle.
Secondly, for politeness sake at least, read people's posts from top to bottom. You only seem to have read the first two sentences, and your friend mohamed apparently ignored it and continued with his nonsensical blabbering.
and about the moon, believe it or not, the photos is from NASA
and a line which encircling the moon can't be explained by any scientific ideas
if it's a lie you're talking about, you're talking about yourself
Be ashamed of yourself.
The moon splitting thing has been debunked dozens of times. Besides, you're probably going against your prophet's teachings by claiming that the moon was split in Muhammad's time:
The main problem is that it contradicts the Qur'an itself. In various places Muhammad admitted he could not or did not have to perform miracles to prove himself. When asked to perform miracles his response was:
Glory be to my Lord; am I aught but a mortal messenger? (17:93)
And those who disbelieve say: Why has not a sign been sent down upon him from his Lord? You are only a warner. (13:7)
Muhammad insisted that even though other prophets had miracles, his only miracle is the Qur'an. So when Muslims claim that Muhammad performed miracles, they are going against the Qur'an itself.

i hope that help
If language is your problem, here's a response to your moon splitting miracle in Arabic.

- sinuous rilles
- arcuate rilles
- straight rilles
Ariadaeus Rille

You don't scare me with that kind of talk for one second. And also, if what you're saying is true, than your 'god' is a demon, and most certainly not a good person. Actually not unlike the Nazis in certain ways.
Bah, people and their backward religions. When will they see that religion is nothing but a way to control peoples lives? I should know better than to post in threads like :o

And (remember) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their reins, their seed, and made them testify of themselves, (saying): Am I not your Lord? They said: Yea, verily. We testify. (That was) lest ye should say at the Day of Resurrection: Lo! of this we were unaware; (172) Or lest ye should say: (It is) only (that) our fathers ascribed partners to Allah of old and we were (their) seed after them. Wilt Thou destroy us on account of that which those who follow falsehood did? (173) Thus we detail the revelations, that haply they may return. (174) surat alaraf

Excuse me? You're saying I'm the one ignorant of literature and need to learn logic and be a better student? You say this all when you barely understand a single word or even the basic logic behind anything being told to you on this forum?

... really?

I don't usually tell people what I do on forums, because it sounds like I'm being an arrogant ***. Tonight I'm feeling like being a bit of an *** so let me tell you about "what type of student" I am...

I'm a graduate student at the University of Tokyo. I'm leaving on Sunday to present my research all expenses paid at a research conference in Taipei Taiwan. My research area involves extremely controversial historical topics between Japan and East Asia over historical issues. I absolutely MUST remain objective and be extremely logical and selective over evidence that I use or review, so I pay very close attention to detail.

I'm not a professor, I'm not a rocket scientist, but I handle right-wing dumb-*** propaganda of all sorts regularly. It is critical for my research and study that I maintain an unbiased and critical view on everything I hear and read. This is by no means unique to myself any graduate students of any field must maintain this standard the best they can.

Now, what do YOU do? Besides spread misinformation, and twist logical arguments beyond all recognition on an internet forum that is...

I do not agree with a single damn thing you have said from the start. You're entirely ignorant of the most basic foundation of science, fundamental logic, and you're ability to understand a basic conversation is completely missing. Despite myself and many others trying to explain everything in the most simplest terms, absolutely NOTHING penetrates your brain.

There is nothing more that can be done. I can only assume someone like you is entirely insane beyond all help, or just a forum troll. Either way, I'm done wasting my time with you and debunking your nonsensical religious crap. It was a nice exercise for myself, just for practice, but no value came from beyond that.

/thread

THE SEAS NOT MINGLING WITH ONE ANOTHER
One of the properties of seas that has only recently been discovered is related in a verse of the Qur'an as follows:

He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. (19) There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). (20) Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? (21)surart al-rahman

This property of the seas, that is, that they meet and yet do not intermix, has only very recently been discovered by oceanographers. Because of the physical force called "surface tension," the waters of neighbouring seas do not mix. Caused by the difference in the density of their waters, surface tension prevents them from mingling with one another, just as if a thin wall were between them.60

It is interesting that, during a period when there was little knowledge of physics, and of surface tension, or oceanography, this truth was revealed in the Qur'an.

No offence taken at the mistaken gender. 25 years ago I would have given almost anything to be a boy, so I'll just consider it an extremely belated compliment :D

It's getting rather tiresome to address all the laughable BS being spewed all over this thread, so I'll just pick this one:

can you explain why there are so many scientists who convert to Islam while they were researching the truth behind Qur'an, there are some scientists in Australia who convert to Islam because they were researching Qur'an, i heard in Europe it's much more people who convert to Islam because the scientific, logical, rational, and proved right about Islam

Like who? This statement has no meaning meaning whatsoever, unless you a) tell us who these scientists are and b) show somehow that there are more scientists turning to Islam than any other belief system.

The really sad thing is that I Googled it myself and it's really easy to find several examples of scientists attesting on Youtube as to how they converted to Islam, but you were too lazy to even post a link to back up your claim.

Anyway, since I'm not so lazy, here's a list for you:

Murderers who converted to Islam:

Charles Brooks Jr.
Carlos the Jackal
Mark Fidel Kools
John Allen Muhammed

Just like the fact that a handful of scientists converted to Islam, my list proves nothing.

There is now a strong need to invoke its power.
Correct, because his style is similar to Timeous plus imuseto is an anagram of Timeous. Timmy the troll also stated elsewhere the moon was split in two, which was debunked.
I will be back at the weekend to debunked the vague claims made by Mo. They are laughable and I have seen better.

your word is not right god is not demon god have 99 name this not all......
Mohamed I am giving you a warning for preaching. Do it again and I will put a temporay ban on you. Preaching is not evidence, just blind assertions and we have had plenty of preaching idiots here in the past for various religions, usually christians, but one or two muslims.
I suggest you read this thread by this baka who was trying to prove christian god existed.
Evidence of God's existence
You'll notice his argument are much the same as yours, but better framed.

buahaha
that's absolutely true, i''ve been ignored by him couple of times
but he isn't blabbering nonsense, you guys who always denying but later saying nonsense
of course i read the whole messages and understand those
if i don't understand i won't post anything

about the moon i already said that in the upper

you really lack of knowledge about Islam or you're talking without thinking.?
if a kuffar only read one verse, he'll get nothing (even he read the whole Qur'an, he'll keep get nothing)
but if a Moslem read even only one verse, he'll understand and he'll be grateful

You come here expecting that we would bow down to the authority of your religion, just as you do, but you're mistaken. We will not. Your Koran and your Muhammad are as questionable and subject to criticism as any book or man that had existed, exists, and will ever exist on Earth.
You may consider Islam as an authority but we do not. Reason is our main source of authority and under its prerogatives we discuss.
If I'm mistaken or have a "lack of knowledge" then show them to me. Give me the counter reasoning(s) or counter example(s). Come to me with a reason and not with an authoritative statement mouthed by a source that I do not recognize as valid in the first place.
I've spoken to you in your language and gave you verses from your book contradicting your statement. Speak to me in mine. Otherwise there could be no possible conversation between us.

if a kuffar only read one verse, he'll get nothing (even he read the whole Qur'an, he'll keep get nothing)

Aren't you contradicting what you said to RolandtheHeadless? Why ask him to read Koran if there's no point in the first place?

Also, the singular form of "kuffar" in Arabic is "kafir". I'm a kafir, OK?

I am an athiest and do not have any urge to believe in a religion any time soon. I live in England so we are allowed to belong to whatever religion we wish to. The reason why I am an athiest is because I, personally, do not think that having a set of rules and codes imposed on you by someone else or a holy book is appealing and I like the freedom I have to think what I want, do what I want (in reason) etc. I hope I have not offended anyone who has strong religious beliefs (that's happened to me before...) :sorry:

I love offending religious people... makes them actually consider the idea of questioning what they think. I'm not cutting down the person usually, only the logic behind the thinking. If they choose to get offended, fine.

You did not offend anyone,Thanks.

Emoni,What will you get from offending the others, religious or not ??

Hee hee arigato gozaimasu tomodachi :-) I am glad I haven't offended anyone.

Emoni-san, I am sorry to say that I agree with Hezam with this - offending people (especially if they hold strong views about what they believe in) is NOT a good idea! My friend is a strong Christian and if you offended her on the matter of what she believed in, she would not be pleased at all. Even if you yourself don't believe in a certain person's religion, you should respect that and let them believe what they wish.

Oops I don't mean to lecture you - I just hate seeing people argue...

You may be slightly misunderstanding me. I don't go literally out of my way to just offend people for no reason. However, I certainly don't agree with treating religion as something that is "off-limits." In fact I find numerous aspects of religion in general extremely offensive. The treatment of women, the belief and complicit agreement in that if someone does not agree with a belief that they should suffer for eternity, the constant annoyance of others to join any certain religion/cult without any actual PROOf that is actually correct (or even caring about proof), etc. I find thinking an invisible sky-daddy in space created everything in 7 days being pushed instead of scientific education in schools, not only offensive but downright frightening.

I see freedom of religion as simply a side of the freedom of speech coin, something I find extremely important, but by no means is it safe comments, criticize, mockery, and attack. Especially, if it is being pushed publicly.

Furthermore, if religious people choose to be offended, and heavily religious to the point where anything that does not fit their imaginary view of the world that they are willing to steer away from friends and people around them only because they do not agree, then you have fundamental cult-like behavior. I'm step lightly cause some religious evangelical might "get offended"

Atheist; I have never cared and never will care. I focus my life on things that are important to me.

Ah, I have misunderstood you! Sumimasen tomodachi :sorry: I understand what you are saying and I agree with you too. I do not like the restrictions that are put on people by religion and I also personally do not believe that it is possible to create a world in 7 days (when it takes me at least 2 weeks to do a simple piece of English coursework :p). What I meant was that you should be careful with people who have very strong beliefs in a certain religion and who would take great offence to you even saying that what they believe is wrong. They might (and I mean a very small might) be correct and for all you and me know, there might be a mystical God somewhere - we don't know. But, we could also be correct in saying that there is no God.

Confusing, ne?

People say that to me sometimes, "what my religion they are right?" My response actually scares them even more.

I would directly OPPOSE any God or divine being that is portrayed in the Bible, Koran, etc. A being that behaves like an abusive father, demanding worship, passing down random unexplained judgment, and generally being a total ******* half the time while claiming it is love?

That kind of God, if I ever met, no matter how powerful, would just get a "screw you, you have a LOT to explain buddy" and a middle finger from me.

You can't prove a negative, and I never said there wasn't a God, no one can say that and be taken seriously. However, the chances of there being, and the total lack of evidence means there is a very low chance that there is, and if it is anything like the God of religious texts, that gets a sigh of relief from me.

I was baptized a Roman Catholic, but I'm an Atheist. I live in a Christian country and my mom is pretty religious. I go to church with my mom on Sundays, just so she won't go berserk and think that I'm going to hell or anything. :\

I think there are SOME aspects of religion that COULD be a good thing. For instance, religious teachings may be the foundation of a person's morals and values. It could give a person a sense of meaning in their life. It may also give hope to a person. Although there is also a negative side to religion. War, for instance. But that's my opinion. :D

I think what matters is that you KNOW and UNDERSTAND what you believe in. And letting someone dictate what you should believe in and calling that "faith" is, in my opinion, absurd. ^_^

Morals do NOT originate from religion, and considering things that happen in most religious texts, I consider it a very good thing that moral examples of them are picked and chosen, not all selected. It seems people have a VERY hard time understanding this relatively basic concept.
