Silly quake fest!? you haven't played the game yourself, have you?
It is a recruitment tool, and it's propaganda, but it is realistic in every way and if you play it with a team (and know what teamwork is) then real life tactics will get you a long way.
It's nothing like that lame Quake game.

Yes, I have played the game. I am very familiar with the heavy weapons therein. HOWEVER, just because it is a realistic game, DOES NOT mean that it can't easily turn into a Quake enviornment with the wrong people playing.

Have you ever played Rainbow Six 3? It is fairly realistic in itself, yet 5 of the 6 games I played of that yesterday were reduced to nothing but run and gun Quake style action.

And I fully understand the fundamentals of tactics in combat. Ever play Socom II? That game is like Quake in 3rd person, yet, my friends and I dominate because we use realistic tactics and not silly side to side firing runs.

As for other things I am playing, I would have to say that since getting my new LIVE headset, I have been playing a lot of Rainbow Six 3 and ESPN NHL 2K5 for XBOX. On the PS2 front, I have been doing a bit of SOCOM II and Front Mission 4 for the last few days.

At the moment? Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Having no friends with gameboy advances kinda sucks, though, so I'm trying to speed towards the end at this point. Still pretty fun, regardless.

Just beat Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. The ending was kind of weak considerng the amount of time it takes to get everything in the game. But then again, plot never was it's strong point.

Planning on replaying Vice City in anticipation of San Andreas. Two more weeks!

Well, I just got back from visiting my friends in San Luis. They tend to buy alot of games so we were playing several while I was there, but i don't relly have the cash to support such an expensive habit so I usually just borrow one or two games from them...

Let's see, we played X-Men Legends, Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (which I'm now borrowing), Guilty gear XX, Front mission 4, (those one's are actually mine, though I don't play them much anymore)...

...oh yeah--and Dance Dance Revolution.

You know, I don't care what people say about it, DDR is fun--it's also a great way to improve your footwork, I may have to add it to my training regimen...
