I don't know about Brit Rock in Japan, but here (in Korea), Oasis Blur, and Radiohead are quite well known(compared to other British rock bands that you mentioned)

They are good? They are great, you wouldn't have Oasis, Radiohead, Stereophonics, Sex Pistols, The Clash if there wasn't The Who. The greatest and loudest of all time. Long Live The Who!!
