Well, I didn't end up in Japan. My husband ended up here. He came over with his company a little over 8 years ago, and hasn't been back since(with the exception of a couple of brief trips).

I'm not too far from Winston-Salem, actually. I grew up in a smaller city about 30 miles from there.

Winston is a very cool town, especially the campus and art museum. My parents lived in Greensburo a while and are now building near Black Mountain.....although the overfriendliness of those people can be a real headache for them as well, Japanese ways still give even me sleepless nights....so what's a healthy Midwestern girl to do ?
