"Born to Be My Baby"

from the album "This Left Feels Right"

accoustic stuff, really warm feeling,I like this song because the lyric is about my ideal life with my girlfriend.

Born To Be My Baby

Rainy night and the worked all day
We both got jobs cause there's bills to pay
We got something they can't take away
Our love, our lives

Close the door, leave the cold outside
I don't need nothing when I'm by your side
We got something that won't ever die
Our dreams, our pride

Beats like a drum
Flesh to flesh, one on one
And I'll never let go
Something I know deep inside

You were born to be my baby
I was made to be your man

We've got something to believe in
If we don't know where we stand
Only God knows the reasons
But he must have had a plan
Cause you were born to be my baby
I was made to be your man

Light a candle, blow the world away
Table for two on a TV tray
Nothin' fancy, but that's OK
Our time, our way

Hold me close baby, hang on tight
Buckle your seats for a bumpy ride
We're two kids hitching this the road of life
Our world, our flight

Stand by my side
There's a chance we'll get by
I know that you'll live in my heart
In my heart till the day I die

You were born to be my baby
And I was made to be your man

We've got something to believe in
If we don't know where we stand
Only God knows the reasons
But he must have had a plan
Cause you were born to be my baby
I was made to be your man

[Solo]

My heart beats like a drum
Flesh to flesh, one on one
And I'll never let go cause
There's something I know deep inside

You were born to be my baby
I was made to be your man

We've something to believe in
Even if we don't know where we stand
God knows the reasons
But he must have had a plan

Cause you were born to be my baby
I was made to be your man

"Old School" Alert!!

Tony! Toni! Tone!--Just Me and You

I loved this song back in high school. It was in the running for our prom theme, but Garth Brooks' song, "The Dance", won.

Anyway, I hadn't heard it in a long time and due to a little newfound inspiration, I downloaded it a week or so ago and have been playing it almost nonstop ever since... ;)

The soundtrack from "Flash Dance". Yes, from 1983.

What a feeling . . . what a voice Irene Cara had.

Where are you from, the South? Garth Brooks for a prom song.

But actually, I like 1980s and '90s country music. I love "The Dance." Since I can't sing in Japanese (I suck) "The Dance" is the only song I'm always prepared to sing should I ever enter a karaoke by accident.

Yes, I am from the South. I grew up in NC, but I now live in VA.

I really wanted the theme to be something other than "The Dance", but that's ancient history now. Besides, even though I'm not a huge fan of country music, that was a pretty good song choice for a senior prom.
