That doesn't mean Qur'an is contradictory,It's like those criminals who use the rules to avoid the punishment in the west.
If a couple guys used Jihad verses to declare Jihad in any time for their interests then they are wrong not Qur'an,Don't blame anything for what wrong users used it for. <---- i like broken english
If you are picking and choosing and interpreting what a quote says (often out of specific context which religion is notorious for doing) then maybe it is BOTH the "book" and the "user" that is wrong.
To say the koran is a peaceful book (or the bible for that matter), is depending only on who you ask... and if they are on the "right side" of the book they interpret. Luckily for those interpreting it, they ALWAYS believe they are on the right side of their interpretation, which they believe to be is fact, rather than simply their personal opinion.
The Quran's Verses of Violence This site's interpretation (
Islam: The Politically Incorrect Truth) would argue different, as would other sites. (Please note I'm not going to say that all the information on this site is my opinion, I'm giving an example, although I might agree with parts)
When I say I don't want the koran to be burned, it is simply because I don't want a book to be burned that can be learned from in some degree and has historical importance (not by what is in it, but how people have followed it blindly). Hell, I don't even want Hitler's book burned or banned. Simply because there is the opportunity to learn from the book and understand the way that sort of hatred and insanity grew. Even the negative must remain in order to learn from it. In my opinion, to believe any book "just because it says to" is one of the most idiotic and stupid things one could possibly do and is a sign of extreme immaturity. That doesn't mean the book itself, or people should be burned, hurt, or anything else. I'm sure this would "hurt people's feelings" but get over it, I'm more concerned about people's lives being ended because of insanity based around ANY religious book.
Ultimately, this is just a political shouting match between some Christians and some Muslims that will simply ignite ignorant hatred and anger that I want nothing to do with. Unfortunately, these idiots live on the same planet, just like a screaming baby in a restaurant.
My advice to you Hezam, if you like the koran, go for it and enjoy it. Just know that many other people will NOT like it, and sometimes loud creepy idiots who are best ignored, will not like it and won't shut up.
I don't like tomatoes, maybe you do, but I promise I won't destroy all tomatoes. Besides, I like ketchup.
