Well, we can't see the original japanese so we can't actually see where the hiragana and katakana are mixed up. However katakana can by used to wirte words normally written in hiragana for emphasis etc. it can also be used to replace all the hiragana in a sentece to imitate certain speaking styles, often robots etc, ﾂ（thats probably the only time you'll see ﾆ停?卍 by the way.ﾂ）. I have a hunch that the orginal Japanese was fine and the translator just didn't understand this, my evidence that they needed dictionaries and lots of help to translate the song. Well, we'll never know if we can't see the Japanese where he mixed it up though.
