Sort of sad that nobody talks of anything but Visual...

i agree on the fact that some people are narrow minded, but that is mostly there problem.

and apparently(did i spell that correctly?) there are a lot of people here that like vk and who are narrow minded, or at least a lot of those people who visit this forum.
well that kind of explains why there are a lot of the same topics right?

just for the record, i like all kinds of bands :-)

now please get this topic more happy :-) :-)
 
So according to you there are no good VK Groups.
There are VK with good vocals.
Just because you like B'z, doesn't mean other people can't start threads about VK.
If you want to talk about them so badly, you should start a thread by yourself.

I think once you start one, you will see that there are a lot more people that are fans of the bands you like.
 
If people are so worried about VK taking over the forum, start a thread. Even a simple "Who likes the B'z!?" will start up conversation. I'd be one of the first to post there. My favorite j-rock band happens to be Dir en grey, so lots of threads I start happen to have them as the subject. That doesn't mean it's my fault that VK has taken over the forum, or anyone else's who likes VK. People can't help what they like. If anyone's, it's the faults of the people complaining.

Oh, and there's plenty of non-VK threads if you look a little further back in the forum. Post on those, and bring them back to the front page.

Wow, thank you SO much for that little bit of advice. Had it not been for you saying that, I would have sat there in silence never knowing that I could start my, dare I say it, own thread?

Obviously, had you bothered to read the post I initially started, you may have had some insight as to why I started it. When the ENTIRE J-Pop discussion page consists of VK and VK related items, it becomes a little annoying and cries for a change of pace. I could start 10 threads on ten different bands only to be drowned out by the cacophony of True secret facts of Dir en Grey or whatever happens to be the VK flavour of the moment.".

So please, do me a favour, without anything objective to add, don't add anything.

I'm glad at least you would post. But, you have to understand that it isn't a matter of VK taking over the forum.. It's a matter of it already has taken over the forum.

Sadly, I don't have a problem with people enjoying what they want to, it's just that non-VK fans shouldn't have to go 60 pages back to bring a thread back to the front.

My suggestion to the moderators, make forum areas according to the types of music. That way rock fans can post their thing there, VK fans can have at it there and then if there is space, a general common area for general discussion. Maybe for new visitors or people not sure about what they will like.

Call me crazy, but it may just work.

That's an awesome idea. I've been a little confused as to why this hasn't happened already, considering that there's hardly any j-pop in the j-pop forum anyway (mostly VK and j-rock). And my slightly annoyed post was directed towards advigilo for the narrow-minded post. Like I said, you can't help what you like, and though Diru is my favorite band, I love The Pillows, B'z, and Bonnie Pink, too. And...well, I dunno if you'd consider The Yellow Monkey as VK or not (they dress rather offbeat), but I like them, too.

The basic point to this post, though, is that I totally agree with the separate forum thing. ^.^

Don't stress over that, cuz. I know that you were referring to someone else, as I was when I wrote my sarcastic post which hopefully got the point across.

I think for an instance like this, we could use a bit of additional space to fit everyone's tastes.

A VK board? Inspired. I am often daunted by the same threads being repeated continually after they've been buried in the back pages of this board. Most are just repeats or edited titles consisting of the same subjects; the prettiest? sexist? Hyde vs Gackt? worthy questions when not overdone, then it becomes spam.

i just think that some people don't look at the person anymore, if the jrockers are beautyfull than in a blink of an eye they have a lot of fans. there is nothing wrong with that, an nothing wrong with vk( i think most costumes are amazing).

but that was what i meant with narrow minded, perhaps i used the wrong word to explain it.

hopefully you can understand it now.
 
I gotcha advigilo. I wasn't offended, just defenseive. ^.^ I had taken it as "people who like VK are narrow-minded and only like VK". But I agree with what you're saying, now that I understand. I like bands for their music first, and looks are a bonus, but there are lots who just go for a VK band's appearence. 👍
 
if the vk bands i like had crappy music i dont think i would like them. i like many bands and most are not vk
 
I listen to alot of bands... I don't really care what they look like and no longer stress over whether the artist is VK or just rock or even pop. I like what I like. I t just so happens that alot of my favourite bands tend to be more visual. Over all I love them for the sound. And of course being teh person I am I cannot help but love their appearance as I love wild and outlandish clothing and fashion.
 
yes the make up and clothes are amazing, which i dont see here in north america so it is a bonus

Yes.

There seems to be an ongoing discussion of Kyo, Gackt, Hyde and clothing by three or four different people, spanning about 5 different threads.

The problem, it is spamming a thread that doesn't have anything to do with these subjects. I respect your right to discuss these topics in their own thread without being spammed. It only proves the point that other discussion is not respected or given a voice.

I'll come out and say I'm guilty of posting a lot of nonsense in a few threads, but that doesn't mean we don't respect the threads. And in most cases (at least, the ones I've had fun in), the threads were made by the people posting in them. I've made it a point to keep my antics out of strangers' threads, for the most part.
 
:sorry: sorry if im posting too much off topic things :sorry: lol random things just comes to mind and it got a little out of control. i will try and keep the vk stuff in the vk threads. i think for the most part i have posted vk things in vk threads except this one but yes i will try.
 
That's why I come here to read the posts. Jref is unique in how nice the ppl are.
 
Ditto. I said it in another thread...not sure which it was...but JRef's forum is a lot more mature than any forum I've ever been to. That's why it's one of the few I've actually joined and participated in. 👍
 
I haven't been to this forum for months. I remember talking in some non-VK topics. I like Visual too. I listen mainly to J-Rock. I love B'z and X-Japan. B'z are the sexiest Japanese man I saw. :) Not even Mana (whom I like very much too) can compare with them. :D It may be said that I am limiting myself. I have some favourites bands (call me a fangirl, cause I listen to everything Tak/Koshi or Mana/Kozi produce) and I am not really interested in other bands. From time to time, I search for new artists, while still being devorted fan to my previous ones. I discovered Kiyoharu (as person) in that way. He has a really good voice, it doesn't bother me that Kuroyume was VK.

Apparently, I like many VK bands. I never bother about look. I like them because they play a fine music, that suits my tastes.

VK thread have the samne rights, maybe it's bothersome to see similar thread for the X time, but it's just a job for moderator. I know it's about harder work for him, but that would be good. Or maybe get some topics to archive, huh? (start from the VK first ;))
