Need a word or phrase translated?

休みは楽しかったようでよかったですね。 ディズニーシーの体験について聞いてください。
→フロリダのディズニーワールドと比べると貧弱かも。(行ったことはないけど)
乗り物はあまり種類がありませんが、ショーがなかなか素晴らしいです。

1日では周り切れなかったですね。

Is this last bit a way of saying you didn't appreciate an experience, or didn't find it as compelling as expected ?

This bit?

1日では周り切れなかったですね。

It just means "Couldn't get through everything [wanted to] in a day."

OK, thanks. I was reading into it 'We weren't cut off from our surroundings' for the day as if it wasn't a magical or transporting experience.

There could be several possible alternatives (try WWWJDIC with ENAMDIC) but 川田 渡辺 would be likely.

how did u find out? is there a website that lets u do that?

also are those words kanji?

Those are the ones 'preferred' by the IME.

WWWJDIC with enamdic selected (but I didn't use it)

Yes.

P.S. You really should check which is surname and which is givenname - especially as I rather thought they were both surnames :?

The article translated fine, it's just this second paragraph that didn't seem to
achieve a very good flow. Suggestions are welcome.

She introduced examples from prisons visited as Miss America where a deepened faith allowed prisoners to recover their sense of dignity as well as reduce the levels of violence. This emphasis gave the speech a deeply religious tone. Socially reformed former convicts advancing President Bush's faith based policy along with poverty and drug policies move sympathetic feelings into the realm of action. She appealed for strong support and participation, saying we can all join this crusade of concern.

I got a little bit here I need checked over and revised if you all can. Thanks in advance.

AIRの10分のプロモを見たんだけどこれって元どこ?

まあなんにしてもこれは劇場で見たいな~。
いやでも劇場だと叫べないか。

うぉ~~~~~~~

たぶん俺の予想どおり
DreamでSummerを回想しながら見せる手法みたい。

しかしなんだ、佳乃と美凪も出てくるのね。
まあ一言重要なことを言ったりする脇役なんだろうが。

ところで晴子さんは?????????
おい、晴子さまはどこだよ!

I watched the 10 min. Air Promo, but can't find the source.

Any way, I'd like to see this at a theater but I can't scream in there!

Just as I expected, it seems they'll use a method where they show the reminescence of the Summer part in "Dream." (That's a toughie, I'll run it by some of my friends.)

しかし何だ(?), Kano and Minagi are coming out in it.
Bah, they'll probably just be supporting characters with a line here or there.

By the way, what about Haruko??????
Hey! Where the heck is Haruko?!

Well, that was my take on it.

This is my attempt. How about it?

Oh cool! Thanks a lot wakaP! So, しかし何だ is the same as ところで?

YES, they have the same function.
しかしなんだ would be literally translated as like 'Well, what I should say it.'
(But sadly, I'm not sure my English...)

One more order of business from the above posted article....the use of 母体 is another way of saying she's a strong female/from the heartland/original supporter ? Although It may come off as slightly patronizing in English so there's probably no decent translation....母体 【ぼたい】 (n) mother's body; heartland; :?

Funny about the choice of 知られる as well, is that the writer
saying 'she is known to be'...it would seem pretty obvious for anyone
speaking at a convention.

I might be the only person, but I don't understand which the translated sentenses are. Could you tell me which ? :( :sorry:

今さら

I now the kanji translates to 'now' but I don't know what the hiragana is doing. Have the same problem with the hiragana after ある.

The full text is:

今さら
神隠しでも
あるまいが。。。。。。不思議な

This is my attempt at translating:
Now (something)
even if Kami-Kakushi
exist (something) but...mysterious, right?

I thought I could pull this off on my own since I have an official translation (this comes from the 「なるたる」 manga "Shadow Star" in the US) but that translation is:

'tain't like I believe in Kami-Kakushi...but these are strange goings-on and that's a fact, officer.

So I need better help than that. :)

From the 今さらの検索結果 - 辞書すべて - goo辞書
いまさら 今さら
和英辞書8件

Or, if you prefer the 大辞林 version:

My feeble attempt at translation: Even now I won't be swept away. It's mysterious...

The あるまい is a negative conjectural form. Note that adding まい to volitional verbs can have the effect of meaning negative volition.

E.g. 話すまい - I will not speak.

How do u write "Kimi-no-koto igai-wa kangaerarenai" in Japanese?

That _is_ Japanese :D
Seriously though if you use an IME (if Windows) or your OS' equivalent you just need to type kiminokotoigaihakangaerarenai and then press space.
君のこと以外は考えられない

(Note 'ha' for the particle 'は'.)

lol opps i meant japanese characters...I was checking thru the IME thing but i dont know how to use it -.- i suck =P but thxs for ur help

うまくコミュニケーション取るのが難しいですね
(I think that it is difficult for us to communicate well with each other.)
Elizabethさんが何を問題としているのかが,まだよく分からないのです。
(Your point is still not clear for me.) :sorry:

Was what you wanted to say the Japanese article was not logical enough to translate into English?
(言いたいことは,日本語の記事が論理的でないので英語に訳すのが難しい,ということですか?)

すみません。I'm a little nervous sometimes about trying new sentences in Japanese, so if sometimes my postings don't make much sense. :sorry: Anyway, I can't say absolutely the Japanese isn't logical -- only that my translation isn't very smooth and I don't understand the grammar here (元受刑者の社会復帰や、貧困、麻薬対策についても). The subject of reformed ex convicts advancing Bush's agenda abruptly followed by 貧困、麻薬対策についても (also moving concern with poverty and drug policy from sentiment to action) ?
I didn't understand the connection between them. Maybe wakaP will come up with something better ?
