Hah. That's from the lyrics to 金魚花火 isn't it?

It's looks like either a rather unusual use of 包む or I haven't understood it. (Quite likely - lyrics are tough ).

... is the literal translation. Goodness knows how that should be interpretted - what's a 心に泳ぐ金魚 represent anyway. :?

It seems to. The only two problems with Western European encoding are
1. It takes about five times the diskspace/bandwidth.
2. Last time around some people were using a browser / OS that could not enter Japanese text in that way.

I haven't noticed anybody complaining about 2) this time ... yet.

I would have thought that 「わけ」 was being used to note the reason that the home stay student (... etc.). If so then 'necessarily' doesn't work in that position.

On another note - Elizabeth's use of 'refrigerator room' seems a bit odd to me. There are (in restaurants etc) actual walk-in rooms that are refrigerated. I wouldn't want to be sleeping in one of those *brrr*

In this case, both で and に can be replaced with によって.

I use Safari1.2.3 (v125.9) and I'm afraid that this is not compatible with JREF.

Although the reason the student hesitate to enter the room is that someone sleep there,
I'm sure that this わけ isn't used to note the reason that the student (...).
I have to note that without the latter part of the sentence （ホームステイ学生は...）, this わけ should remain.
There must be a reason that the person have to sleep together with a refrigerator (e.g. there are few rooms), and then, he/she 'necessarily' use probably the kitchen. The context was missing.

Have you tried firefox ? Not that you should have to use a different browser but you might like it and it might work better with the current (slightly messed up) JRef.

If it has any meaning it might be easier to find in a Kill Bill forum than a Japanese one.

Given that it's in katakana it's quite likely to actually be something from English. If it's anything at all.
