Comparative perspective:

• Persistent negative views in Japan: While Japan's negative sentiment toward China decreased slightly, it remained high at 89.0%.
• Diverging priorities: While Chinese respondents cited the Fukushima water discharge as a significant issue, Japanese respondents prioritised the Senkaku Islands dispute.
