MAC, a member on these forums, a year ago, was not very good at English. In 1 year, he has become basically fluent.

You can see his website at www.macveg.com

For a naitve japanese person, his english is amazing. he can also speak it well.

I'm still amazed on how fast he could improve. Although, eh said he was studying off and on for 6 months.

However, news sites, any type of articles (including game articles) in english, he cannot read.

Which I still don't know why..

このフォーラムをあいしてる。
This forum I love.(Love is probably wrong..ugh)

Erm...wait.

1.He wasn't very good at Japanese.
2.He has become fluent in Japanese.
3.He is a native Japanese and his Japanese is amazing.
4.He can't read English articles well.

You confuse the heck out of me !

Spamming is veeeery bad, GCL.
Maybe a temporary ban? This guy is really ruining the forum (not to mention pissing everyone off).

GCL, remember what I said about proofreading? This is exactly why it's so important! 😊

if MAC is a member of this forum, would he not be able to make a thread about it himself?

Why do we want to go to the playstation forums?

GoldCoinLover said:
Yeah, ban me. You think THIS is spam? Hah.
Go to the playstation forums and look on the "General PSP forum" section.
Here, I'll even give you a link: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board?board.id=psp
The fact that your stupid PSP forum is full of spam in no way grants you permission to spam in this forum. Though, to be truthful, calling your posts spam is an insult to any self-respecting spammer.

Spam this is not.

Your complex japanese doesn't confuse me! (Or maybe it does..)

'mo ' could be used for emphasis for "too."

You called me violent. Or something. ugh. Remember, in adjectives, drop the "i" and add "ku"

AFAIK, Epigene is Japanese. Are you sure that your Japanese is good enough to correct her?

If I understood it correctly (admittedly with the help of a dictionary) she only agreed (strongly) with what Dutch Baka said.

Spam this is, my young Jedi.

No she didn't. Don't be so eager to show your ignorance.

Kevin,

You're doing this again. You should try to be careful, or you're going to end up offending people.

I just want to add that I don't really consider what GCL is doing to be "spam."

It's not like he's trying to advertise his friend's site. He's just posting it because he's impressed with the guy's English and he finds this noteworthy (for some reason that is not quite clear to me, but hey).

I agree with everyone that GCL gets out of hand sometimes with posting too many long and rambling threads (sorry, Kevin, but you do tend to jump from one topic to another), but I still see a difference between this and outright "spam", and don't see any reason he should be suspended or banned.

Just my two rubles.

That would depend on your definition of spam. To me making a ridiculously large quantity of posts, almost all of them asking the same stupid (and almost always OFF-TOPIC) questions over and over, followed by ignoring every answer and advice he is given; then more bitching about his personal life and pathetic attempts at self-pity in every thread he creates, is enough to consider his posts worse than spam.

Maybe JREF could do like McDonald's and make a little play corner to dump the toddlers in while the grown folks enjoy their coffee....

Kumo-san, I appreciate your constructive critism.
If you were to reply constructively to this as well, it'd be appreciated.

I'm not going to argue with you or take offence to your comment. But I want some suggestions this time, and instead of trying to "ignore" your advice, which you think I do, I'm going to ask you straight up.

Please tell me how I am ignoring every answer and advice I am given. Im' not saying I am or I'm not; I'm just wondering. Why? Because every forum I go to, people say this. Yet I realy don't feel I am.

Sure, certain aspects I may do. But alot of times when people explain things to me about japanese, I forgot them, (I always write them down, but usually I can't find them because of the messy of notes I always make...)

I've taken alot of peoples advice on japanese. But something that never changes is people always agreeing with you: I don't take peoples advice.

Please tell me why you think this, and how I can improve.

Thank you.

👍

I agree, perhaps I push peoples patience to their limits. I apologize.

I agree. On the board I moderate (which shall remain unnamed! 😌 ) We refer to this kind of thing as "flooding". And we usually don't suspend people like GLC for flooding (at first) because we don't see them as malicious. They're just... enthusiastic.

My advice to GLC would be to stop comparing everything. Don't compare other people's progress to yours, because everyone learns at different rate. Don't compare this board to another board, Different people run it and a whole different type of crowd occupies it.

Ok. I'll break into story-mode because this is the only way I know how to explain this:

Lets say you are standing outside with a friend and he points to something and says "what's that?" and you reply "That's a dog". And a few seconds later he points to the exact same thing and asks again "what's that?" you might begin wonder if he's been ignoring you since you already answered his question earlier.

but you answer again anyways, because he could have just forgotten. Yet a few minutes later he points to the exact same thing again and asks "whats that?". Now You start to think to yourself "there's no way he could have forgotten twice! He has to be ignoring me! = ( ".

I'll give you an example, when you said to me yesterday that "no" can be used to "normalise" a verb so that it becomes a noun. And then asked how this was possible, since 'verbs aren't nouns, nouns are people, places, or things'.

I told you that a noun can be a "person, place, thing, or action" at least 3 times. But it seemed like you just didn't see it or pay it any mind because you went and posted the exact same question again and again.

Well what I said to you before GCL, It is not necassary to make 5 threads about the Japanese language in like one day, while you can ask all this questions in 1 thread!!! In this Japan language section you have 13 threads on a page of 25 threads... I'm not talking about other area''s of this forum.

I envy the fact that you are so eager to learn Japanese, and I respect you for that, but it is just not nessacary to put up so many threads when you can ask them in another thread you made just 1 hour before!!!! you don't need to have 1 subject in 1 thread.. it can also be 4 subjects in one thread...

GCL you are a nice guy, thats what I hear from a lot of people in here, but you start to anoy ,well at least me, posthing in this way.
