MEXT Scholarship through University Recommendation

Hi everyone! just wanted to asked if anyone here are planning to apply MEXT for 2023 enrollment through University Recommendation (currently I'm applying a graduate school)? Seems like this thread received much more response so I ought to ask here! I am still in document screening process hope some of you guys might be on the same journey as me! :)

I am applying for University Recom too.

I also applied for the General Category. Have you received the final confirmation from the University you are applying to?

I have received an invitation for the interview session. Although they have not set the date yet. Does your document also required you to signed a pledge form? Stating that we are not allowed to apply for other university as well?

The pledge form was not part of the requirement but it is included in the general guideline of the university. Once I applied to the university, I should not apply to other programs or universities.

Hey there, I did my interview last Friday. Turns out my professor told me to go with the PGP as well, so I'm applying both. I'm expecting my announcement on March. They didn't tell me the exact date though. How's yours going? Will you receive it in March as well?

Still no news from my supervisor but I have already submitted all the required documents. He asked me some important details last week. I guess he will just inform me of the final results on March.

A Professor from another university is also inviting me to apply for the PGP. Do you have any idea which one is better? General or PGP? Which one has higher chance of getting accepted?

If I'm not wrong, PGP will be out around March for the uni screening, for my general application my professor hasn't email me yet after I sent out my last document and I think my Uni will have it announced after the PGP. The hardest part is the wait!

I don't know if this will satisfy your question IMO (don't quote me on this), from the past thread I think general can either have two output: accepted with a scholarship or not (even after Uni recommendation), while the PGP most of them will surely get the scholarship I guess that is why it is called "Priority". Then again, perhaps other member could provide you with better answer. Don't know if there's any differences for the acceptance rate.

Hey there @rapid_c ! Received a news from my Sensei that I have been nominated by my university for the General Scholarship scheme. I didn't know what month will I received the final announcement and I forgot to ask my Sensei. How's your end there?

Congratulations. It's nice to know your progress. I have also been recommended for the General Category. My supervisor prepared all the documents needed from him. I guess we just have to wait until June or July for the final confirmation. Let's keep each other posted.
 
Congratulations everyone that got nominated. For the guys still waiting, I pray yours turn out positive soon. I want to ask, I received a letter from city office about income declaration. What do I fill in please since I am a student under MEXT?
