Hi fellow Malaysian. I was wondering how did your colleagues received their result? Is it thru email from the embassy or calling the embassy?

Hi Ajen,

Farah said that embassy will email to us once she received instruction to do so. For now, you can check by calling her or email her. Mine is not listed in first batch yet.

The contents are the placement details that include personal ID, name, university, and departure month.
(First batch result has 17 candidates, 4 among the candidates are going to depart in October. Incidentally, there are 24 MEXT 2016 Malaysia candidates who passed first and second screenings.)

It is also mentioned that the placement is final and no requests to change universities will be entertained. And, for those who obtained any LOA from other universities, they have to contact the universities and inform the universities that they are not going there. Candidates also have to contact the university they are placed into, if the university hasn't started contacting them yet.

Most importantly, the e-mail is attached with a pledge. We have to sign the pledge and send a copy of our passport to the embassy before 5th March 2016 (Friday).

An official letter, together with the university placement and professor details will be sent out to our registered address soon. We have to follow both the instructions in the letter and in the email accordingly.

Wow should be a very long email from the embassy. Congrats to you. And hopefully I can receive mine in a short time.

Hey Everyone,

Received the good news earlier today- officially confirmed to be enrolled at Kyushu University, beginning this April! Plan is to commence as a research student, then to enroll into a masters of law.

I received so much information from this thread, thank you to all of you for your generous contributions- in particular, dmnte, who gave me some particular info about life at Kyushu uni. I hope to assist next year's batch by passing on what I learned about the application process, but for now there's alot to get done before April!

Hi there everyone.

I've been lurking for a while, wanted to just thank everyone for all the help and support you've have shown each other through the application process. It's been lovely to see, I wish I had posted earlier. Also information posted was really helpful, and it was comforting to see other people going through the same experiences as I have through the application process.

I'm from UK and I've just been notified by the embassy that I got placed in Tokyo Uni, my first choice. The long long wait is over finally.

Looking forward to meeting fellow Brits at the reception in March. Also anyone else placed at Todai, maybe we will be crossing paths soon!

Anyway, good luck to everyone else waiting for their placement results. Stay confident!

Thanks! Waseda was my first choice and it was the only LoA I got actually. So it was pretty much a yes or no for me and fortunately Waseda decided to take me in so I'm very excited~

Hi all! Nice to meet all the Monbusho applicants and those who are thinking to apply. Best of lucks for everyone!
I would like to thank all the people that are posting experiences and information, it was very useful for me.
The results from the embassy were informed. Hopefully I will be going to Nagoya University in October (third option, first and second option were private ones). And here is my problem, if anyone can help me or have experience on this: the University is emphasizing about my level of Japanese, which is between N4 and N5. I´m studying as fast as I can but I do not know if I could reach a N2 or N3 level. And also they told me that, because I will be arriving on October, I will not be able to take the Japanese language courses. So, here is my thing: it is possibly, if I cannot reach the level that the University requires, change to another University in which I could pursue my research plan entirely in English? I´ve heard this from the embassy, and for a moment this tranquilizes me. But I am starting to panic.

I got Kyoto University!

I feel sooooo bad, because it was my 3rd choice and I really wanted to go to Tokyo. I actually could write down Tsukuba instead of Kyoto, and now I feel so stupid.

Well, at least I know that I won't be alone there as one of my internet-friends also got placed there.

So all three of your desired placements were national universities and yet you were placed on your 3rd choice? That's really quite odd, but there must have been a reason for that, economic issues most likely.

I am still waiting for my final placement and the fact that all of you guys have already received your placement makes me both happy and anxious for the results!!
