Hope this hasn't been asked here, but if so, feel free to redirect me!

In the anime Samurai Champloo (episode 14), there's featured a song by a woman from the Amami islands, who presumably sings in that dialect. My knowledge of Japanese is paltry at best, but I'm hoping someone can point out specific dialect features in the song or, better yet, explain the chief differences between it and standard Japanese? For example, she repeats the word hare (and I thought maybe it was like the Ryukyuan equivalent of J ware), but it doesn't yield anything on wiktionary, & it's making me want to pop out my eyeballs with a melon-baller.

Here's the youtube video, which has lyrics somewhere (though they are very probably wrong):

Many thanks to any willing soul. Arigatō da zo!

Edit: Should probably include the lyrics.

That is helpful! Can't believe I didn't think to look that up. 😵

It's a shame there's no morphology section, but I'll take what I can get.

Here's the kanji lyrics of the two songs.

おぼくり

ハレ 吾ぬや奥山ぬ かずらだすき

お十五夜の月や 神美らさ照りゅり

ハレ 加那が門に立たば 曇てぃ給ぽれぃ

And here's the modern Japanese translation.

To tell the truth, I don't understand the lyrics at all without the modern Japanese translation.
ハレ "hare" is just an ai-no-te (合いの手), i.e., a meaningless phrase just for the rhythm, not "ware".
