the Chinese must be very very angry now, especially the second goal of Japan is actually a handball
to some Chinese and Japanese, this is not just a soccer game,it is a competition between the two countries, their pride
so chances are theres gonna be a riot in Beijing soon...

Chinese fans angry, policemans get to work

Chinese fans gets emotional, near the end of the game, some Chinese fans who have no tickets, were outside the stadium and shouting slogans like 'beat Japan!'
after the game, some fans tried to stop cars on the road, throwing glass bottles and standing on top of the cars, burning down Japanese flags

I couldn't connect to the link, have to try again later.

I saw the game on TV.Was the second goal by Koji Nakata really a handball?
(Reminds me of Diego, the hand of God). But a goal is a goal,
besides there's Tamada's third goal to sweeten it and even if you
take back that goal,it's still a 2-1. 👍

(I thought the referee was more lenient to the hometeam, though).

I can not agree with comments like 'even if the goal is taken away, team A would still lose'
because a goal makes a big difference in a team's morale and strategy,
I've just been told by soccer fans that FIFA do not have rules like if there is a questionable goal then they should review it immediately, the FIFA says it would 'delay the progress of the games', this is ridiculous, in the NHL,if there is a questionable goal, the referees would review it immediately

They don't review incidents as they try to let the games flow as much as possible. There's a feeling that if a game stops and starts to review things it'll will make the game less enjoyable. There are some camps who would like to see video footage made instantly available to referees to help them with the decision but it's very split between those for and against.

Yes,in football, a goal admitted by the referee will never be taken back.
FIFA does not approved of instant replays or immediate reviews though
there's always discussions like these after such incidents. As for the team's
morale and strategy, that's part of the game and rules are rules that the
players know and the fans should accept as they will never change the
outcome,no matter how you say,foul.

Playing away can lower ones morale too(esp.in a very nationalistic
atmosphere as today's game),but that also is part of the game and can
test just how tough a team can be.

What I would've done to see that game...;_; But I hope it doesn't get too violent out there.

Old News

Ha? But almost all the sport sections on Hong Kong newspapers already predicted Japan would win months ago.

Why do the mainland Chinese get angry? Oh, they didn't have access to H.K. newspapers.

What you said really makes me laugh. have you ever been to China before? Are you sure they don't have access to H.K's newspaper? Don't say something which make up by yourself.

Um, I don't like to speak for those who aren't around, but I believe Jean-Francois is Chinese herself.

It doesn't matter who he is. I just feel funny by what he said

By chosing a weird name and puting a canada flag next to his name to show he is a chinese? very well.

There's a story behind the name and I believe she is from Canada. She's been on this forum for a good while.

Anyway...just saying.

I am from US too, but I think that the only flag for chinese to use is the five-star flag.
but that's not a big problem, people has their own free will.

The only thing i felt pretty strange is about her manner of speaking. " Why do the mainland Chinese get angry? Oh, they didn't have access to H.K. newspapers"

It looks like she felt all mainland chinese people are all wacks. I think you already regard youself as a foreigner. Am i right?

Again, people has their own free will, they can do anything they want to do.

just saying.

PS: staying here for a long time doesn't make her smarter than other people.

I didn't say that? What I meant was, is that she has been here a long time and that is why we know about the story behind her name and where she is from.
