20 years ago I went on a student exchange program to Japan and lived with a host family in Tokyo for a couple of months.
I have very fond memories of my time there and living with my host family. They considered me like a second son and I considered them like my second family.
At that time, I was a student and I did not have mobile phone nor access to emails, so we stayed in touch by writing letters after I left Japan and returned home to Australia.
However, very quickly we have lost contact altogether somehow.
Recently I was cleaning my house and throwing out some old paperwork when I stumbled upon their details that I have misplaced and been looking for years.
I have their home address, email address and home phone number.
Nobody uses landline phones anymore these days.
When I sent an email, it returned undelivered and address does not exist anymore. Looks like the email address have been deactivated.
The email address is inked to IC-Lando - this may have been the company that my host dad (Makoto) worked at 20 years ago.
Their home address was at Omiya-ku, Saitama.
When I tried searching the exact home address in Google Maps, it was unable to locate or pin point the spot - not sure if the house has been demolished or the area has been redeveloped.
It would be good if someone could help me with this. I can send the exact address via DM.
I really miss them and it would be really awesome to reunite and see how they are doing today, if I can locate them, but I'm not sure how.
I'm really out of options as to how I can find them.
Any one have any ideas?
Their names are (Family name in kanji - 関根):
Makoto Sekine (host dad)
Tamae Sekine (host mum)
Shinichiro Sekine (son - he's about my age so would be around 35 years old now)
I could also send old photos of them via DM.
Thank you.
