Looking for my God Mother

Im looking for my God mother. We lost contact after the 2011 Tsunami. Her name is Akiko Saya she married Yoshihiro Saya. The last known address was from Mito, Ibaraki. I Have a post card that they sent in the late 90's with an address reading " 1-301 Joyo Bank Motoyama Apt. 1-1 Motoyama-cho Mito, Ibaraki 310-0032 Japan". Any help would be appreciated, it would help to know if she is still out there or at least where she is buried. Thank you all.

Do you know the kanji for the family name Saya? It sounds a bit unique.

Have you tried the obvious things like sending a mail to that address or calling the phone number? There's no "bank" in the address by the way.

Should probably take photos down. A bit too much personal info on them. We got the address and the name...that's sufficient.

I have tried sending mail, but haven't had a response from that. The post card is from the late 90's so I'm hoping that they simply moved away before the tsunami and lost contact information. As for calling to be honest I am hesitant, I don't speak Japanese and I don't know how I would communicate what I needed to know/ apologizing for the wrong number. The family she married into is very traditional and I am unsure of that would be inappropriate.

I don't think you need to worry about the tsunami. Mito is far enough away from the coast to be virtually unaffected by the tsunami. The earthquake would have hit Mito fairly hard, but in all of Ibaraki prefecture there were only 24 deaths from the earthquake. It was something like magnitude 6 in Ibaraki.

Its possible the apartment they lived in was damaged bad enough so that they have to move. Their surname is unusual enough so that they should pop up in a search if they are active on social media, but I looked and couldn't find anything except some old references. My guess is they are still in Mito. Hopefully something will pop up.

Putting the family name here in kanji for reference, which I think should be OK since its not pointing to anything too private.
