Hope you're doing great, What did you do after completing your studies, did you stayed in Japan or came back to your country. Were you in contact with Miki after completing college. She had a lot of albums during 1980s but not during 1990s. Were you in contact during 1990s. As far as I read during 1990s she did a lot of stage performances and from there her lifestyle started declining.
I know it is very difficult to keep in regular contacts during 1980s and 1990s due to tech. restrictions, but I know you must have put efforts to get in touch with her.

I mostly enjoy her Stage performance, her voice seems very versatile during her stage performance. Her studio recording feels like she's restricted. I find she had enjoyed her stage performance more than studio recording

After graduating from Sophia University I went to Hiuston, TX in United States for my Master Degree in Business Administration. During my stay there I kept contact with the late Miki and I visited her in Japan too but since the 1990's I lost contact with her. God bless her she was a wonderful lady that I loved so much

Have you ever talked to her family members? Did she ever visit you in The US or for a live performance? Did J-Pop was popular in the US. Did people know about Miki San in the US? Does she ever visited outside Japan for live shows or to travel?

Hello nice to see you here, hope you are doing great. I do have lot of question regarding what she did in the 90s. Its really difficult to get any info during her 90s. Even all her stage performance are from late 80s or few from early 90s. There is no news article on that info

BTW very informative playlist, in a Spanish documentary there is a photograph where she had performances in America but its only shown in photograph. There are a lot of things which we don't know about Miki San, hopefully you upload some more documentary. Hopefully I go to Japan some day.

Hehehe you might be right, she used to rehearse the song with me before she decided on singing it and I encouraged her to do so despite the fact she wasn't so happy with her sponsor company then Victor Studio.
That's intriguing! I wonder what her personality was like at that time. You called her lovely and I'm sure she was, but how would you describe her otherwise? Was she a fiery personality, or more meek? It takes a lot of spirit to move away from home and pursue a career in music, regardless of her mother's history in the industry. We don't have a lot of insight into her actual personality, but you would know what she was like before her career might have affected things.

When we met first time she was so naive and very innocent so I guided her in life very slowly and step by step because I know that if she had to pursue a career in the music world she had to be wolf rather than be a sheep and luckily she understood so quickly and for the first time I could hear complaining to her boss about the lack of freedom she used to get from her sponsor music company and eventually she got what she wanted.
She was very smart though.

A person is always naïve until and unless chooses to come out of comfort zone. But a talent like Miki Matsubara and a partner like Fahd will always make a challenging journey easy.
Talent and courage is a vital combination to survive in any industry. Industry like show business don't give much freedom even to there experienced and popular celebrity. I feel Miki was lucky to have you as partner to get so encouraged to take courageous steps in initial days of her journey.

Stay With Me has about 230 million plays on Spotify at this time. It's considered to be Miki's best work throughout her entire career by many of her contemporaries. I believe it was her producer that said she perfected the song and that's what made it such a hit. It must feel incredible to know that your relationship with Miki and the time spent rehearsing together potentially played a large part in the song's success. Here we are 44 years later and the song has blown up around the world. We're all inadvertently sharing in the passion you helped Miki put into that song. That is awesome!
