Hi. I searched for hyde and Tetsu's pic, and I came across this forum, so I decided to register. So basically, I`m pretty new here. Anyway, I would like to cast my vote. I`ll go for Tetsu cause he`s a very talented bass player, and I oh so admire him for that. Did I mention that he`s [kawaii] too? Especially in the snowdrops PV where he was wearing red and white plus that killer platform shoes. He`s so adorable. And.. I`ll go for Hyde to cause aside from being a hot bishie that he is, his voice is awesome -- so original, one of a kind, rare! he can surely melt ur heart out if you hear him sing. but all in all they`re all talented. I love the guitar solos in all their songs, and Yuki's a GREAT drummer too.

Well, this poll is really easy! It's HYDE, of course! I was addicted to his voice from the first time I listened to it. I love the his solo-album "666"!
But Laruku wouldn't be Laruku without the other three!!! I love Yukihiro's arrangements, I appreciate Tetsu's wonderful bass-lines and Ken is a good guitar-player!
It's a shame that I woun't make it to any of their gigs next year! Will be back in Japan in Autumn, probably - too late...sniff

Yes, it's great to be a L'arc fan right now. I first listened to their music a few years ago, found them pretty good, but only fell for them recently.

In response to Ewok85, L'Arc~en~Ciel is a rock band that was formed in 1991 and had its major debut in 1994. The band consists of four members, Hyde (vocal), Tetsu(bass), Ken(guitar) and Yukihiro(drums). They have risen to huge popularity in the late 90s but decided to take a rest in 2000 while its members went on to do solo projects. It's been three and a half years since they released an album, and on 31st March, 2004, they released their latest album SMILE.

That's a tough choice, because all them write music. Ken is the head composer, Tetsu leader, Hyde lyricalist and songwriter and Yukihiro mixer.I'd have to say Hyde for style, music, poetry, overall. *hyde* hehe His solo career has heightened his popularity as well. (Ever noticed he had a strong female following?)

I know some members of laruku have been in other bands, but I hadn't heard of Tetsu being in Malice Mizer, so after reading your post, i did some research, and found that actually the Tetsu from Mizer, went on to be a member in another band called "Zigzo". I also just discover that Gackt used to be a member of Mizer.

Sakura? I didn't know that, but I do know that he's in Ken's band S.O.A.P, when Laruku went off to do their solo projects. Like Tetchan became Tetsu69, Yukihiro became Acid Android, Ken formed S.O.A.P with ex-laruku drummer Sakura, & Ein, & Hyde is just Hyde (^_~) (nickname for Hideto)

I wanted to play bass guitar years before i got into L'Arc-en-Ciel, after I gave up my dreams of playing lead guitar, I used to sit in my room working out bass lines on my accoustic. then my Uncle lent me his "flying V" bass guitar from his rock days in the 1980's, (he was bass player in a band called "Mayday" in 1980, he remembers playing gigs in the same city as Duran Duran at the same time, before Duran Duran became famous.) but he sold that guitar now (T_T) he came with me to music store to pick out a nice bass for me to buy, but we ordered one from the shop, and they never contacted us to say if they recieved it or not. so i didn't buy it in the end. so i still can't play now. LOL.
I like Glay too, but Teru doesn't sound as lovely and sexy as Hyde's sweet voice! Actually i thought the memebers are not so good looking as L'Arc-en-Ciel either, but Jiro (bass guitar) is best looking one , he's cute!
But Hyde and Tetsu are my all time best!!! kakkoii na otoko! Cuuuuute! :valentine

In their English song "Spirit Dreams Inside," I think Hyde sounds like Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran (an ancient English band) which has completely different style from L'Arc en Ciel and I don't even think Hyde is trying to imitate Simon Le Bon.

They just sound awfully alike!

I never noticed if they sound alike or not, maybe a little bit if i try to think about it. But if Hyde knew you said that he'd be chuffed! (^_^)
It just means that his English pronounciation is exceptionally good.

Well, it's not too shocking - I've read somewhere that Hyde used to like Duran Duran back in the 80ies. But I don't think, like Jean-Francois, that he wanted to sound like Simon Le Bon. He is so special himself, that he does't need to do that!
Sakura, don't you think Hyde's English-pronounciation really has become much better?!!!

I like yukihiro soo much. He have a great talent!! All of you can see him playing a hard drums in such a long time. it's not like a simple drums play but it's hard one in laruku. And He's a quite man.
I never look a man at their face. but their ability.
that's why I like Yukihiro the most.

Yes, apparently Tetsu named the band after a French movie he saw with the same name. A couple of their songs have French lyrics too.
