You shouldn't apologize for being Chinese. No matter how many people are happy about the misfortune of other people, it's not like the Chinese government announced that March 11th, 2011 would be a national holiday as a result of this disaster. Actually, who on Earth WOULD do that? It boggles the mind, good sir!

I feel sad for the disaster happened in Japan but I won't saying sorry for being a Chinese.
China is a large country,a small part of Chinese can not represent China,and you can't,I can't either.

No need to feel bad Johnny as many of your compatriots are morning along with Japan as this story from thepeopledaily.com shows. Not all Chinese are "celebrating" Japan's misfortune, much the same as not all Americans are celebrating the sad but true, payback for Pearl Harbor. There will always be people in every country who will "celebrate" the misfortune of another country whom they despise for ignorant reasons.

There's a news article I read yesterday, and I would like to share it with you and other members.

Yesterday Japanese consulate in Shanghai received a suitcase full of bank notes for the 3rd time! It's a donation by Chinese enterprises (approx. 60 of them) and their employees. The total amount they received up to now is approx. 55 million yen.

I'd like to say thank you to all these kind people - money is a great help, but their friendship and kindness extended to Japan is even more valuable.

Actually the majority of Chinese netizens express sympathy towards Japanese people because of the earthquake. They blame those who celebrate it. Many Chinese people remember Japan's support in 2008 and they care about the Japanese who are now suffering from the earthquake and tsunami.
