Hey everyone a lot of people have asked where they can study Japanese without the use of Furigana (the little hint below the Knajis). So I started making my own lessons.

I have Lesson 1 - 3 complete.

Details:
The first lesson focuses on the real basics in romaji (Japanese using the English alphabet) then we learn Hiragana & Katakana (The Japanese alphabet).

Lesson 2 jumps right into the basic lessons of Japanese using Hiragana, Katakana, AND Kanji. Kanji should be used right from the start. Hints for the Knaji will last for 1 lesson after in the later in other lessons any Kanji already used will no longer have hints, you will have to memorize them.

This is one of the best ways to get a firm grasp of Japanese in all aspects reading, writing, and speaking.

Well i see you put plenty of effort into it, and i don't want to be rude but i think you're making too big steps. Although i might be wrong but i think its not much of a practise if you just put the kana alphabet in front of someone and tell them to decipher a given text with it. Well i suppose i might be wrong once more, as i don't know how in-depth was the guide intended to be, but still i think its not gonna work if you just tell people in the end of lesson 1 that they should now learn kana and continue the lessons with in kana. Although as i said i don't know how in-depth the lessons are, if you wish people to use other guides and books apart from yours than i think its good job, if not... i think you should stick to romaji for a bit longer and teach kana step-by-step. Correct me if im wrong.
I for one am using Jimmy Seal's guide, and i must say he surely put a lot of effort into it, and even his guide suggest that one should use other material beside the guide. I don't know if you are familiar with that guide, if not i will find you a link, as i have the guides downloaded. But yeah, it would be amazing if you could make a guide like that. Just keep on working.

What is wrong with learning Japanese in Kana from the get go? If you are wantting to learn to read it, that should be on the top of the list to learn.

It takes time to learn it, so for the first few lessons why not use romaji while someone's learning kana? If you start with kana right away you can't study that effectively. Yes study kana from the start, but switch to it once you have mastered kana.

You should start with kana before anything else. Don't even think of studying in romaji.

I started in romaji and don't seem to be any worse for wear.

People who are going to stick with Japanese studies over the long haul will move off of romaji. And for those who aren't going to stick with it, what difference does it make if they learn kana or not? Just something else to forget and chalk up to wasted effort.

What are you gonna associate the kana with if you don't know a thing about the language? Do people learn to write after or before they learn the basics of language? Learning an alphabet is more easy when you actually know when and how to use it. Its like learning words without knowing their meaning. I don't get it why couldn't you use romaji in your first few days, you just say one has to learn kana right away, but let me ask why? You can learn kana while you study, whats the problem with that? Does it have a negative effect? I don't think. I speak armenian, yet for years i didn't know the alphabet and you know what? IT didn't have any negative effect.

Thank you for creating the site for beginners like me. It'll really help me. I actually learned Romaji first. But I really should start memorizing he Kanas first.

I memorized the Hiragana charct already and I'm starting with the Katakanas~ Thanks again~
