How is expressed the future tense in japanese?

The standard dictionary form, or the more formal desu, ~masu form of verbs can express the future tense when placed at the end of a clause. Especially so if a time is indicated:
明日、学校に行きますか。
Will you go to school tomorrow?
はい、行きます。／ いいえ、行きません。
Yes, I'll go. / No, I won't (go).
週末、何をしますか。
What will you do this weekend?
来週試験がありますから、日本語を勉強します。
Next week I have a test, so I will study Japanese.
来年、海外に行きますか。
Will you go abroad next year?
うん、イタリアに行く予定です。／いや、お金がないから多分バイトするだけです。
Yeah, I plan to go to Italy. / Nah, I don't have money so I'll probably just be working part time.
