I've just heard the cheering news that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested for suspected misconduct in public office (sharing privileged information to his nonce friend so that he can make money from it). I mentioned it to Mrs Lothor, who had never heard of Jeffrey Epstein, despite her subscribing to Yomiuri Shimbun.

Has the Epstein scandal, something big enough to potentially take down the US government, gone completely unreported in Japan? I cannot ever remember seeing a report on the TV about him.
 
My wife had heard of Epstein, but didn't know who Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was.

A few days ago, it was reported that Itō Jōichi had professional and financial connections with Epstein, leading to his resignations from prominent international posts after 2019.

Yes, the Epstein case has gone unnoticed in Japan so far.
 
My wife wasn't aware of who was Epstein was this week, but she had some inkling that something was going on. As expected teenage statutory "grape" isn't enough to scandalize these guys but sharing unauthorized information somehow is more notable.
 
A lot of people assume if you so much of talked to Epstein at the Walmart while shopping there , you must of had sex with a 12 year old. It seems most people who had any contact with him were looking for a cash donation from him or some other innocent reason. It seems if you want to smear someone you don't like's reputation, tie them to him. Not to say some people didn't have horrible illegal sex with minors , but not everyone did. According to the internet , so far more Democrats have been named and they are the ones who demanded the files be released. Another issue I notice is people posting AI pictures of Epstein with someone they don't like. They keep talking about videos being made on his island which would be interesting to see if they exist. With AI making real looking videos , if they had them , everyone would claim they were fake. As soon as some other big news story comes up , Epstein crap will vanish.

Because there are connections at the highest levels of global wealth class and governments across the world. And that includes Japan.
I think the most known Japan link is that a prominent Japanese tech figure, Joichi Ito, raised and concealed millions of dollars in donations linked to Epstein while leading MIT's Media Lab, and resigned from MIT, Harvard, and several elite boards when this became public. Ito later rebuilt his career in Japan and is now involved in a large government‑backed startup and tech initiative supported by senior officials and funded with public money.

There's no evidence of that. So far his crimes were "only" trafficking, sexual abuse of minors, coercion, and confinement of girls and young women. Victims describe being flown to the island, isolated, and assaulted.

Oh, bravo on this calling out that Japan does not have sentience because it is a country. Bravissimo, indeed, Lothor. You undoubtedly knew exactly what I meant, using 'Japan' as a generalization of the citizens of Japan. If we use your logic, then BY that logic, I guess 'Germany' didn't win the World Cup and 'NASA' didn't land on the moon because they aren't sentient beings? Sarcasm doesn't look good on you. It's called Metonymy, and this is honestly the saddest thing I've ever seen you post.
