Japan Observer.
You are a very funny guy. Really!
I know what you mean by valid sources. Valid sources are those you agree with. Regnum.ru is a very respected site, by the way. I did say I can post many links to articles in Russian. And, please, do not flash English, American, etc. sources (i.e. those sources you consider reliable) around. I do not believe them. I know that many of them still wage information warfare against Russia. The government interference? Of course, it is rubbish. In order to judge so, you must live in Russia. Personally, I can say to you that in Russian media you can meet a lot of sharp criticism of Vladimir Putin, the government, etc. No one arrests, suppresses, etc. them. Yeah, Politkovskaya was killed. But Putin and Co. had no reason to kill her. And you know why. ;-)
Frankly speaking, I do not care what you think about Estonia and Latvia. I still consider Estonia a neo-fascist country. Dozens of thousands of Russians and Jews in Estonia know that Estonia is a neo-fascist country. Even the Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said recently, 'There is heroisation of fascism in Estonia.' So I really do not give a damn about your opinion. Obviously, you know nothing regarding this problem. I just showed you the place where you should dig. So dig and DIY. As for me, I wash my hands of it.
The saddest thing about Estonia and Latvia is that their governments connive at fascist moods in the societies. Moreover, they finance them. There is no linguistic discrimination in Estonia. There is racial discrimination in it. If the EU will not take appropriate measures regarding Estonia and Latvia, I shall feel disappointment over the principles the EU is based upon.
By the way, have you read the last article in the list of links I posted, namely Linguistic minorities in Estonia? Do you also think that it is rubbish?
I think that the Russians benefited from the fall of the Soviet Union. And I am sure that it was the West that lost. Soon Russia will become even more powerful and influential than the USSR. And the West gradually realises it. So who lost?
Definitely, Russia and the Russians won.

I know that there is neo-fascism in Russia. I do not deny it. Unlike Estonia, the Russian government strives against it.
It is my last post in this thread, by the way. I already said what I wanted to say. The last thing here will be my own list of democracies. Enjoy it!
