iOS Japanese vs anki

I'm trying out the SRS flashcards on the iOS Japanese dictionary app called well Japanese. I wish they gave it a more distinctive name. I call it the red dictionary when talking to my friend from class. Anyway. I like how easy it is to make lists of vocabulary and was wondering if anyone compared its SRS algorithm to anki. Or just used it and liked it better or less than anki.

I actually rarely use anki but another SRS app a lot like it. But nobody has heard of it so I just say anki. (It's called flashcards deluxe). I really like the iOS thing because it tests you two ways. But I haven't used it long term so I dunno. By two ways I mean it tests you reading kanji on side 1 and also with the English on side 1. And I like that if you are doing reviews and get it wrong it makes you practice that word several times.

Someone else was asking about studying vocabulary and this thread isn't all that different but just specific to this app.

Anki is basically a browser, you can edit the card like you do with a website, like background and other HTML/CSS elements. And all elements will be reflected on AnkiDroid (not sure about Anki Mobile though)

Yeah I get lots of control over the cards including using cute girls to help motivate me to study. That's been a big reason not to use some non user configurable app like iOS Japanese for my SRS. But the way the flashcards are integrated with dictionary it seems nice. And it seems like they have a good SRS formula. Time will tell. I can use pictures in my grammar decks though.

I'm guessing nobody here ever used iOS Japanese SRS long term.

Don't know what app you're talking about. Flashcard Deluxe is not really on the same level as Anki Mobile.

The app I'm talking about is called Japanese. Yes. Japanese. What a dumb name. It's the most generic name ever. It's iOS only.

OMG... it's just another EDICT App! It's basically an App version of jisho.org, there are plethora of these Edict Apps on Android for free and the best know one is Aedict as I've mentioned and integrated with Ankidroid.
You iPhone people are getting shafted left and right. Paying twice as much for a phone with a smaller screen and a childish OS and then forcing to pay $32 for Anki Mobile and $8 for a basically a free dictionary.
Lol, both which are free on Android.
What people fail to realise is that these apps are all the same, just different interface.
