Yeah, I play CS, R6 and Quake2. So where do you guys hold your IDAS sessions? I play in Megamall cause its cheap and its a good place to practice and learn cause a lot of vet players show off there every now and then.

I have a question for the people knows how to drift?
are the drifting method like this......
first, before the hairpin, I shift down the gear
than I press the the gas with the brake at the start of the hairpin
next I stop pressing the brake and keep on press three quarter of gas in the middle of the hairpin
last I go out the hairpin at full and shift up the gear
it that the right method to drift? :)

I dont know what car you drive but my advice to you is this game isnt like the anime dont hill toe the gas and brake or anything like that. My advice right befor the turn either let go of the gas all together or shift down like your doing. Make sure when your about to do the turn to be far away from the corner i know they say take the inside in the anime but what ends up happening is you take the outside at the start of the turn and youll end up at the inside of the turn when you come out of it. Good advice though normaly you want to let go of the gas when making a turn expecially on Irohazaka and push the gas once you have cleared the turn.

should I drift every hair pin or just the sharp one?

Whenever i take on sharp hairpins, i veer towards the opposite lane, release the gas, then in a snappy manner I steer towards the inside and i take on the turn full throttle. Sometimes i downshift twice, when its really sharp like on Iro. On much easier hair pins, i approach by tapping on the brakes and simultaneously steering towards the tip of the apex. Braking will throw the rear sliding towards the outer lane and will drift all the way through until you are parallel to the exit of the turn.

meh.......so wot r sum times ppl r runnin on sum maps
.... im not doin that great....but ill start at it soon.....think my 2 best maps r Akagi and Iro......think ive got 2'27 or akagi and 3'05 on iro......wot do u ppl have???

lately i'm concentrating on Usui (2'50" - CCW, 2'51 - CW dry) and irohazaka (3'03" - DH dry) both using an evoIV. my average on myogi is 2'54", both directions, wet&dry, using an R32.

i had the best ID session last night!!! the left machine was busted so we made do w/ the right machine. it was also acting up but in a very favorable way - the machine would have 20 credits everytime it's reset and this kid reset it twice! we took turns and i got a new R32 and an FD Type-R.

indeed the best things in life are free... :-)

@CerberaLM
reset? how can u reset the machine? I thought it was impossible to reset without the key or the guy with the key reset it. if it don't need a key to reset,could u plz tell me how to reset it?
Free Games.......so coollll :)

where do u play initial d? Grand Central or SM?

anywayz there was something similar at funworld parramatta one day. The machine wasn't busted but the dude who works there changed the settings so it was like $2 to enter the game but continuous FREE continues.

@White Comet
SM :-) wow unlimited continues... 👍

@evo3 man
i think he just unplugged the machine and switched it on from behind. i don't know where the switch is, though... yeah free games rock!

i've yet to visit an old friend who used to be a technician and is now a manager at the local arcade; haven't seen him in a while... free games here i come! :devilish:

i dare not say... even if i did exceptionally well on a track, i dont think an ER34 can come up with an impressive track time. I gues its a combination of bad car - terrible driver.

Where do u guys play? and how do you reset machines so that it gives away free games? I need a great deal of practice credits and free machines are definitely what i need.

@impulse101
usually at SM (whichever arcade has IDASv3); the Glorietta malls charge an outrageous price, plus the music and sound effects are almost inaudible...

i didn't bother to check what the kid did to reset the machine but i think because the other machine was busted and technicians were trying to fix it, they must've changed the settings on the other machine w/o them noticing or they forgot to default the settings. if the guard wasn't roving around we would've played 'til the arcade closed! haha!

initial d is kinda rip off. a race with two to three min for aus$2. I played a shooting game(ghost Squad) for three dollars I like half a hour

yea bute when it first game out.....if u were really skilled.....$2 could get u liek 1-2hrs gaming.......cause when i first started...i remember liek this fat line for initial d.....and there was this guy with some skills....and he was beatin evr1....and ppl kept coming up to verse him....

i doubt that coin trick would work......how would u pull the trick off....how would u put a string on a coin....im sure when u pull the string back up.....the coin will rip of the string....??

must find out how to get free games!!!!!!!!!!!

On what course/s is Bunta easiest to beat? Does he have a weakness? I just made a noob mistake by battling Bunta on Myogi.

What steering tension are you guys set on? Mine's on #3 and its pretty loose. I got used to it already, and I'm kinda bothered if im using the wrong setting. Is there an optimal steering level?

Bunta is easy to beat depending on what course you play the most. He's relatively easy to beat for the first few stars on any stage, but once you get past 5 or a few more, skill level determines how easily you can beat him. Since I'm an Iro addict, I've easily gotten him to 11-12 stars, yet my friend has trouble with him at 5-6.
