In which Japanese cities, foreigners (Caucasian) are socially rather well accepted?

Being socailly accepted? what do you mean by this? does this mean that you will be taken exactly the same way as a Japanese in every aspect? Is this about not being a social outcast? I wouldn't really worry about this because no, you won't be taken as a Japanese and it is rather hand to try to fit in with the Japanese. You won't be a social freak either. In fact most Japanese people will be scared of you just because you are a foreigner and most will just try to avoid you.

Tokyo is Asia's International so one fits well in Tokyo. I don't have any other in particular other than major big cities.

People in general tend to be more down-to-earth and welcoming in the Kansai Area (Osaka, Kyoto ...) and in Okinawa . I haven't been there but a friend of mine (who is also Swiss, btw) told me Okinawans are the Mexicans of Japan.

With all this being said, what is it exactly what you mean? We could help more but tell us what you expect.

Socially accepted means: not to be ignored, avoided, isolated by local people.

Nobody will know if you are European, Aussie, American, etc. unless you tell them. So, how are they going to know that in order to ignore, avoid, or isolate you?

Planning on a visit or work here? In either case, just come.

You'll stand out pretty much anywhere, but, in my experience at least, Its a bit less so in iger cities. I live in Osaka, and have few problems. Kobe is good too.
