Personally those pictures probably won't even come close as to describing the beauty which you can see from your eye (if you meet them in real life). I mean, an angle of view isn't enough to judge someone's prettyness..

Personaly, I think "To each his own" on this subject, but prefrence isn't something that can be debated about and settled. Screaming about it in each others faces isn't going to change the fact that he likes a certian ethnicity over another. Perhaps the point that some people are trying to express is that it is wrong to like one ethincity over another, or it isn't fair; however this is an area that an individual has no choice to what their preference is. It just is how it is.

In fact, personaly I don't find african american, or european women too atractive, but that doesn't mean I dislike them entirely. I have met quite a few who I like for who they are, not just what they look like and with that in mind, I've noticed that they tend to give off a certian aura that makes it so that it is no about longer "Black", "White", "Latino" or "Asian", more so about who they are.

Ethnicity is what you get from first glance, like hairstyle, eyecolor and such it is all a matter of perception yet once you know some one -- and I mean realy know them -- appearances mean virtualy nothing.

(On a side note, this post was supposedly about japanese women in japan. Realy if I liked asian women I would get with one here. It's not as if there aren't any where I am at now, and the language and cultural barrier isn't realy a difference here.)

Also, european ranges from southern italy/ spain, dark brunettes, to Sweden, very white complexion, blonde, and blue eyes. Or is just cuz they are part of the european continent, just trying to understand what doesn't appeal to you.

I think most of you are focusing only on the appearance side of the issue of racial preference. But the other half of the equation is that it seems many gaijin guys prefer Japanese women because of the way they typically behave (or are perceived to behave). Some might like the mild mannered/soft spoken ways of Japanese women or the way they seem very "lady-like". In my opinion (and speaking very generally), Japanese women, in appearance and behavior, seem more feminine than many other nationalities, and that appeals to some people.

Europeans, (particularly French, German and Scandinavian) also appear to me to be more generously endowed, at least with longer, broader heads, deeper foreheads and more prominent noses.... but I've never paid that much attention to it really. It's like the original poster who found Japanese brunettes attractive, but has likely never been there to see how many have dyed it reddish/brown.

Yes, I very much so dislike the land mass known as the european continant... that and mt. Everest-- Grrr... that mountian, soo tall and snobby always looking down on everyone else, j/k.

Actualy American could mean quite a few different things. I live in california and it's not predominantly white here well not so much as opposed to other places. American is a Nationality, not an Ethnicity for the most part. In addition, the topic of manorisms does not fall under Ethnicity therefore if we were to discuss personal preferences as to Nationality, then Ethnicity would then be a sub-topic, not vice-versa. You could say that this is your basic "A Square is always a Rectangle, but a Rectangle is not always a Square"

When I posted my previous statement, I assumed that everyone would know that I was talking about Ethnicity, since if I were not, then American would not only refer to Caucasions, but everyone else who lives in America, hence nationality. Does that make sence?

Oh, and on a side note... that picture of the Japanese person, looks more like a girl than a woman (12-16 from what it looks like). Personaly I would like them to be a little older looking... by about 6-8 years, but if that's your "cup of tea", then by all means... stay away from the public school system, unless of course you are that age in the first place then in that case... ok then

(Also, Japanese brunettes are almost as rare as Japanese Blondes and more than likely they are only half Japanese)

Oh and in regards to your comment, all the english women i have ever seen here in Australia are all very good looking (the majority) and not obese either.

Why are there so many insults to other people on a thread that is about female preference? This thread is really going off topic but I am guessing probably b/c there isn't much reason to even continue in here. People like who and what they like. Some are phases others are natural tastes.
It's like I am at a friends house and showing him the JREF.com friends site he was interested and asked about it. when another guy comes up and says "Wow D you are just crazy about asian women? I have dated Hispanic,white,black,asian and I tjust so happens that I have more contact with asian people then anything because my hobbies. I don't actively seek out "ASIAN ONLY WOMEN" My girlfriend is Japanese and grew up in Hawai'i. Why b/c thats WHO SHE WAS when I met her. We clicked as friends and I became more interested in her. I think this is a great REMINDER not topic for discussion though that you don't always get what you see. I guess two different factions are starting to create, the super japanese/asian fanatics and the japanese/asian interested,yet still sceptic. The ones in the second group seem to be older and more down to earth, the first seem over enthusiastic and youthful. Guess the two are bound to contrast.

You know what Duo, You are the ****! I didn't even think about that. That is a very good point. Which is why I say this topic is not a really good item for discussion. I honestly believe the 1st group will eventually see the light and grow into the 2nd group. It's media that creates the 1st group within there lies the problem. You hardly see the avg Japanese women in media it's only what is appealing that is mostly shown. We mind as well group them into the superficial category because it's basically the same principal.
