While I am new to this forum, I am 56 years old, which makes me kinda a senior citizen to this crowd.

I hope I do not dupe this message, but I attempted to do a quick post and nada occurred.

You must be one of those enfant terrible!

The pic that says, "you're not you postcount"; where is it from, Thor?

Hi, Shooter452! Welcome to the club! 🙂
I got here two weeks ago, and that same thing happened, so you're not alone!
After reformatting my harddisk yesterday (nothing serious; I had to anyway), the problem disappeared.
It must be some kind of system setting in your windows that is not communicating with the JREF dbase mngmngt software. If your problem persists, you might want to consider (at least) reloading your windows with UPGRADE OPTION. It doesn't necessarily have to be a total reformat-reload, which will wipe out all your personal files.

If you have difficulty, leave a post in support subforum, and one of the admins or mods will come to the rescue!!!! 👍

EDIT: Another thing I figured out later is the display modes; experiment with them with a thread with only a few posts. By adjusting it, you can get interesting results in the way you see things, as in "now-you-see-it-now-you-don't." Good luck!!

Domo arigato, goziamas', lexico. I will take your advice. Currently I am trying to find a pic in my library that is not too large for the Forum to accept. I will work on that and try to reduce the size of one from my limited pictures in the folder. 100 X 100 sounds much larger than it is.

A spell checker would also be nice. Is there one here?

Oh Boy !!!!

A playmate my age(55 in 20 days)! My lifetime hobby has been shooting; your user name mean anything in that respect?

You're very welcome.
I too did several reductions to get my avatar down to 100X100, had fun doing it! :)
I'm not sure about the spell checker. I did a quick search, but it didn't seem to show. But don't give up.
I don't know if I'm doing it right, but if I have some wp feature that I want to use, I simply keep one open all the time, do my writing in the wordprocessor, and when I'm done, do cut-&-paste. A little tedious, but I get all the functions I'm used to. But good question, there should be more function in JREF than what's on the surface. Keep posting questions, and people will come to help you. This is an awesome community, so very much more personal than one might think. Maybe I'm a little too excited about all the things I found here, but that's how I feel right now. Keep in touch. 👍

By the way, if you look around, I think you'll find some "buddies" from Okinawa ! :-)

Greetings and felicitations, Frank!

AB-solutely.

I am a devoted student of John Moses Browning and the ultitmate sidearm, M1911. My current carry-weapon of choice is a Kimber Custom with as many bells & whistles as Bill Wilson makes that I can also cram onto that piece. I have also carried the Beretta M-9 (reluctantly) and a four inch M-10 .38 Spl (required in both cases).

However, this is a "neither time nor place" for that discussion. Maybe we can do a "sidebar" later?

Ah, yes! So I see (about Okinawa), lexico!

I will work at the pic. I am lucky that my relationship to the Naval Correspondance Manual forced me to learn syntax and that constant practice made me better (not perfect, mind you! *grin*) at spelling. I just love it when I engage the spell checker and it comes back clean...no errors! Vanity, vanity!

I also spent brief moments at Osan around 1979. Any place near you?

I stumbled onto this site while I was researching about the Subaru WRX STi. Lucky me! *wink*

:-) I just turned 19, myself. I can't wait -- I get to go to Katsucon soon and I'm almost to my externship in school. Life's treating me fairly well.

Relax! Compared to some of the folks here (including me), you're practically a youngster!
