How much do you drink?

So, you guys can drink that much! xD
I hear Japanese has less...less..errr, an ALDH, and some even don't have it at all, so generaly speaking, Japanese has less tolerance to alcohol
than western people.
I wonder why we don't have that dehydrogenase while our neighbour asian like Korean, Chinese and especially Taiwanese(from my experience) seem to be able to drink REALLY a lot.

Thanks Cue chan !! Good question there. I have heard that the girls down south--Kyushu and beyond--can drink. I was told (and it must not be true, of course) that it was because the wives of fishermen had to wait so long at a time for their men to come back that they took up drinking, and over a long period of time it made them stronger. Do you have any news on that wivestale?

Hmm, no, I've never heard of that idea...but that's an interesting and agreeable hypothesis.
Meantime, they do say "People in Tohoku and Kyushu are real heavy drinkers(comparing to those who live in the other areas)," and I believed they can drink just because those regions are the major production area of Japanese Sake and Shouchuu(distilled spirit). xD

Back when i was a university student i went out drinking a lot with the sole intention of getting wasted, but then again so did all my friends and at the time this was an acceptable thing to do. But looking back now i realise that it wasn't the best idea partly due to the amount of drunken violence that went on in and around the university campus as well as the effect it had on my studies.
Now i work in an off license (liquer store) i get the same people coming in night after night buying rediculous amounts of alcohol for themselves. I do still drink but not as much or as frequently as i used to. I'm just glad i saw the error of my ways before i ended up like some of my customers.
