And 今度の母の日に For MD ? Reserve on MD ?
I think "reserve for", or "reserve on" works? I wanted to say, I will make a reservation at the best restaurant.

It's so cheap and informal (used with any verb, too, not only with する).

How about

It's got to be the English talking, but if it were me reserving "on Mother's day" it may have been weirder. With 母の日には instead of 母の日に、as a light contrast to that particular day for an act which would normally come beforehand. That was all, the whole confusion. 😌

Here's some more updates. This is by far the hardest thing I've had to do in a while, I took a lot of time on this and tried to work everything out. I'm obviously going to make mistakes but I hope they're not major ones. I tried to work everything out logically.

Using たら is ambiguous around 'if' or 'when' the action happens. Obviously with exceptions, wiith 時, my feeling is usually more certain. That's the only difference in formation I can think of for this sentence.

I'm having as usual a lot of problems with the listening comprehension so to that I go!

These are the same structure; the main clause is the mean to do 時-clause. In this case, the present form is always used in 時-clause. You can paraphrase it using te-form.

バスに乗って、学校に行きます。
たけしは箸を使って、スパゲッティを食べました。

The first って is grammar I think not quoting something that has actually been said but more to describe the thing you're referring to, ("that thing is," "apparently" "seems"...) and used when you want to set up a discussion of the thing itself (winning the lottery).

So that's my attempt at a crappy explanation. Unfortunately って is contracted from と、という、というのは、とは。。。and there is no good way to translate this usage directly into English. 😌

Hey guys! I have some good news, my Japanese teacher agreed to meet with me so I could practice my listening and conversation skills. I should be able to record it so let's see how that turns out...you will be laughing a lot!

The 窶堙≫?堙 was meant to be as a report, as "he said...." Chapter 17 was all about hearing, reporting, "looks like", the -tara if conditional etc. Heres the first chunk, where you use sou desu to report hearing instead of seeing.

Now for this one, I just wanted to make sure the grammar was good. Of course Japan is smaller than the US 😊 I also used the opposite of what Genki taught me, I put yori before no hou ga.

新聞によると、今週(の)一番読まれた本は「Genki」だそうです。
朝寝坊したら、起こしてくれませんか。(起きる; intransitive, 起こす; transitive)

Thanks, Tori! A few of them I should have known like to use Katana for the name Tom. I left the ones that weren't typoed.

I don't get the first one, did I need to put honjin after Takeshi? Second one as well.

読まれた also confused me, because I wanted to say "According to the newspaper, Genki is the most read book in Japan this week."

I think transitives are next so perhaps that sentence was a bit ahead of me.

Lastly, I just wanted to ask, why is it 雨が降る? From Chapter 13 I remember 雨が降りそうだ meant, "It looks like it's going to rain". Is this sentence okay if I use it in that context?
