How do you feel about Japanese women only being interested in you cause you are 外人

As for this foreigner thing, I've heard one too many times from my so-called J-friends(girls) that they would love to have not only a foreign boyfriend, but also just generic friends to walk around with so that everyone would think they were cool. No shame. Just come right out and said it! :p

It's all good, though, because relatinships built on that aren't going to last anyway. I think many people are guilty of that way of thinking. Usually everyone is interested in something different. There was a time in college when I wanted nothing but a foreign guy. I dated a French guy, a Swiss guy, and a couple of English guys. I thought they were better just because they were foreign. Of course, I got out of that notion and then married a Japanese guy purely by accident. Well, kind of. Not because of that foreign novelty issue, anyway.

The relationships that are not fueled by purely fascination/infatuation with another's nationality are more than likely the ones that are going to last.

they should tell me that, i'll be their generic walk-around friend too if they want..

being showed off as a trophy? why the hell not? fantastic!
what if japanese culture was the other way around?.. gaijins were considered ugly and disgusting by everyone.. and being seen with one was a shame they had to bear?...

I didn't look at lina profile so how am i supposed to know that.

honest mistake, noones bashing you

they are however bashing Lina a bit too much..
i'm pretty sure it wasn't meant to be racist -_- it was just an innocent remark blown out of proportion, no need to get ugly, folks.

Basically yeah, there are J girls and guys out there that treat foreign friends like a trophy.

But at the end of the day it becomes obvious too one and all whats going on if thats the case.

There are also girls that hang out at bars like The Hub and Roppongi with the sole purpose of getting sexed by foreigners. They are sad sad girls and its fun to **** with them by knocking back their advances (look they are REALLY tarty ok?).

Although some people taht want foreign friends/boyfriends do have some quite valid reasons. Met one girl that did.

I wouldn't mind being treated as a trophy either..
I've been a loner by choice most of my life, so if being a foreigner would help getting to know people, then thats great! :D

I sounds great to be the center of attention 👍

It sounds like as soon as you got off the plane your surrounded by j-girls which is very very 👍 .

When a girl tells you
'the only reason I come here is too pick up foreign guys'
you kinda twig.

But its not all wine and roses.

No more is just being a foreigner enough for many girls.

Theres enough foreigners here that the even the remotely sexy/attractive girls with a shred of english level cn be rather choosy. They all want a handsome foreigner, or a rich foreigner, or a muscular/atheltic foreigner.

Its only SLIGHTLY easier than back in Oz really, then you add a culture/language divide.

oh and never... EVER tell a girl (or anyone in Japan) you are Otaku. Even if its true.

so let's see.. i'm not rich.. i'm not muscly.. I think I can pull off pretty... handsome might be stretching it..

thanks for the advice on the Otaku part.. it might prove useful....

Very useful.

Being Otaku is NOT a good thing. It seems to be even more negative an image than geek or nerd in the west. At least geeks had a monet of 'chic' cool a year or so back. Otakus here are just sad sad men.

A guy I know reads a bit of manga. Watches a bit of anime. Nothing heavy. In america he called himself an otaku because Japan was 'cool' and manga and anime was cool.

He came over here and in his 2nd day at work at his new NOVA branch a student asked 'Whats your hobby?' (standard question)

He apparantly puffed up and quite proudly and loudly declared 'I'm an otaku'.

Class went silent and his reputation as... basically a geek was cemeneted in the school as students gossiped to each otehr.

Don't use the word. Unless its mocking someone else:-p

No, that is not nice. I know those girls in The Hub, and I'll never knock them back, and they are not sad nor pathetic. you should take time to listen to them with an open mind. they all have a good reason, even if it sounds strange to you, it's not strange at all for them.
i'll give anything for a moment of love with a j-girl
or a k-girl, or a c-girl, or a vn-girl, or a b-girl, or l-girl, or m-girl....

Uh guys.....

This is the internet. Let's not get toooo personal. Someone wise here once said.. "There is no point in getting mad at a bunch of 1's and 0's........"

I agree. Let's play nice, kids. The idea of the forum is to have fun, not get into a pissing match with one another, besides, it just stinks up the place.
