Hi from Shikoku

Congratulations on your marriage and welcome to JREF! I've only been to Shikoku once during Golden Week, but it was a really nice place. @musicisgood just did a bicycle tour of Shikoku recently and shared a lot of great photos.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we hope you stick around!

Hi Queen!,
You aren't one of the foreigners recently interviewed regarding life in rural Japan, are you? There was a story circulating online, maybe three or four months ago, about foreigners seeking an alternative to city life. Actually I think the focus was on the low cost of living in the countryside. There was a woman (artist, I think) living in Shikoku.
I loved Shikoku when I visited, but I only visited Matsuyama, and it wasn't in the dead of winter. Matsuyama was a nice enough city. I do think I would go a bit stir crazy if I were too far outside of the city. I like being a bit anonymous. The deeper into the countryside you go, the harder it is to stay anonymous.
How about you?

Hi all! Excited to discover this forum! I'm a 35-year old creative person living in Ehime prefecture, Shikoku. Feel free to ask me questions about countryside life if you are interested! I just married my Japanese partner and will be here indefinitely. :)
Welcome aboard. I just recently did a 22-day tour of the island there beautiful people very reasonable in the fish is very reasonably priced.
I'm actually looking forward again to doing another tour of the island there next year. Maybe I'll stop by and buy you a cup of coffee.
