Half Life 2

Ok - here's the official Half Life 2 forum. Anyone else as excited as me about this one? I received my "Gold" package on Saturday and I just put up my posters in my cube at work. Gamespot is going to have their official review at noon PST today. PC gamer gave it a 98 I believe.

I'm afraid that Half Life 2 is going to tear me away from Halo 2 for a while. It's torture having two really awesome games going at the same time!!

One nice thing about Halo 2 is you don't have to worry about whether or not you need to upgrade your XBox to be able to play it.

Halo 2 - man I'm really tired of the Flood. Why won't they just die

Half-Life 2 is sweet looking (at least on my low to mid-range comp). It took me a day and a night to download it via Steam last month.

I should've known that the good Dr.'s little pet would've thrown a wrench in the works. Arrgghh. So far, Half-life 2 is living up to the hype for me, and I really don't trust hype.

I played through about an hour's worth of Half-Life 2 at lunch and got into the real combat. WOW!! It's really living up to the hype for me as well. So far, it's firmly at the top of the best PC game ever for me. It's FAR FAR better than Doom 3 and so far it's better than Farcry as well.

I'm a very happer camper.

*sigh*, I can't believe I'm saying this, I need a break. I think I'm going to have to upgrde to a newer card. I mean seriously, how can anyone truly appreciate this game with a 128mb card.

Oh, man. I just played through the boat level. That was incredibly intense. WOW!!! Maybe the best experience I've had in a PC game - and I'm not halfway done with the whole game yet!!

The long wait was worth it! This game is the best I've ever seen. Doom III sucked compared to this ^^



btw. on the preview video of HL2 it was possible to toss around dead bodies with the gravity gun. Did they disable that, or was it only meant for the video?

Your gravity gun eventually gets upgraded to affect organic materials...

Anyody (ancient Californian for "anybody") get any video problems. My video stutters from time to time, and I know of at least a couple others.

I'm glad this game is finally out tho'. I think its living up to the hype.

OK, I'm stuck. I keep diving into the big pool under a grate and can't swim out in time before the guards start dropping fuel barrels on top of me. I'm stuck . Any tips? Pleeeeeeaaassseee

Is that towards the beginning? I think I remember what you're talking about... I think they just eventually run out of barrels... I just swam around like crazy and managed not to get killed... I may be thinking about a different part...

That's what I did, it took a me about two or three attempts to get the timing down.

There was another room where there were two cops shooting down on me as I swam. I pulled out the pistol while treading water and shot em both. They both fell into the pool with me. They looked really cool floating. I love dead combine things.

Man, those gunships are spiffy. And a pain to fight. Sheesh. This is damn fun game.

A pretty cool game, I'll be playing this one over again.

Oh, and I can't wait for the mods that will come out too.
