I'm looking for a good GPS device to use while I'm in Osaka and Tokyo. Last year I had a hell of a time finding the smaller places I wanted to visit, so I decided to find a GPS device but I'm not having much luck with that either. Does anyone have one to recommend or know where to buy one? Preferably with an English option, but I can do without one - just something to point the way! Thanks

Just a thought ?

The outdoor equipment store L.L. Beans has some outlets in Japan. I bet they carry something like that. Might check Google for info about their location and what they carry.

Thanks for the tip. I checked L.L. Bean's Japanese site and there were no GPS devices to be found, but searching through other outdoors-y stores I found a couple of places that have them. D

We need them here !

They are popular here in Maine so we can find our way to the outhouse and back in the dark.

I found a Sony Vaio U Type (mini pc) with a gps function. It was 17,000 yen or around $1,650 US dollars. Anyway it was in Japanese but I was told that I could get English versions. I did find the same pc with the gps at a duty free store in English but it was 26,000 yen. That was way too much. I wanted a small pc and a gps so I am still considering this. gps is the way to go. I am always so worried about getting lost.
