Every interview goes through at least one rehearsal. The interview schedules are sent out weeks before the actual screening time to ask if Gackt (or any other celebrity) can do it. Then Gackt has a good week or so to prepare what he has to say and how to say it.

Could be possible since Gackt is such a perfectionist. But on the other side... Who would have so much nerves and patient to do this with all interviews?

Gackt isn't his real name.
We know nothing really about his family other than he has a sister and parents etc.
We don't know his age and his company's gone as far as to state it themselves.
We know nothing of his origins.
He likes Led Zepplin's stairway to heaven.

It bothers me a bit that we don't know those things. He is hidding those things well, but i think someone will dig the truth about him, someday...

But people, PLEASE, can't Gackt fans place his musical talent before his makeup artist and manager? Because by raving on about his looks and 'funny personality' you're really just flattering the staff that's working behind the curtains and not Gackt.

Gackt is a talented musician with many amazing skills beyond just music. I can't help but admire his ability to speak so many languages and his mastery of so many instruments. But people, PLEASE, can't Gackt fans place his musical talent before his makeup artist and manager? I think that fact that we know very little about stars and it bothers people is messed up. Do you want thousands of people to know every little nasty detail about you? No. Just because stars try very hard to keep some semblance of privacy people jump on them because they want to know what laundry detergent their fav star uses. Honestly, it's none of any of our G*****n beeswax! If they don't want us to know then we as fans should respect that, not do whatever we can to find out anyway. If they wanted us to know then we wouldn't have to ask, would we?
Stars are human beings just like us, they aren't meat or "this week's next big scoop" they are HUMAN BEINGS. Living, breathing, emotion feeling human beings. Give them their G*****n privacy!
If they want to over prepare for an interview let them, who the f**k honestly cares? If they don't want to give a straight answer to protect the shreds of privacy they have left LET THEM. They are stars, yes, but they deserve the common decency of privacy.

Huh i didn't mean fans should know every detail about him. Just look we don't know what is his real name or age. That's what i bothers me. He is so misteryous. He claims to be over 500 years old That is a bit silly if you ask me. People can't live 500 years. It's impossible.

If you say "no comment" people will jump on you more. Think about it. If you find an artful way around a true answer some people will leave you alone. But if you say "no comment" people will jump on you faster trying to figure out what you're "hiding"

No seriously. There is an actual medical condition that is like Vampirism, people that have it must drink blood and other human fluids to stay alive/keep their skin from pratically roting off. I forgot the name of it. It's very rare of course.
But honestly I do believe in Vampires (and not just the kind with the medical condition either). Some people believe in God, I believe in Vampires. Now do I believe GACKT is a Vampire? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

Actually your mention of them as "human beings" is very right. I respect their privacy and am not asking for a detail account of their life, I'm simply saying that it's an unspoken LAW in media that the less people know of a celebrity, they more successful and longer they'll last.

I won't write an essay of this like I did in my first year at university, but celebrities are only celebrities because they're CELEBRATED by us. Celebrities are celebrities because they've got their fans right? I know plenty of talented and pretty people who can play just as many instruments as Gack but THEY'RE not celebrities. The less we know about them the more perfect they seem. Our desire to know the 'real' them is one of the reasons we chase after them.

Gackt is a star and he's still burning brightly. The day we find out the real him is the day he becomes a falling star and retires.

Mind you, he'll still be as talented and skilled as ever, but he won't be the celebrity he is now.

And as for Gackt being able to hide everything about his life so well, i admire that. For one, i wouldn't want the media to know everything about me, i would only want my performing side shown. Secondly, it's very hard to hide things from the media, and Gackt is very good at it.
And whether Gackt is a vamp or not...haha, i doubt it, but i'll see what he looks like 30 years from now. I think it IS very interesting to see a celeb proclaiming themselves as a vamp and a psychic though. The closest we americans have to that i think is Tom Cruise, and he's just plain nuts.

Yes, exactally, being able to hide your private life so well is a very admirable skill in the celebrity world.

My point is further proven as, like you said, Tom Cruise is the closes American equivalent of Gackt. Tom Cruise is currently the most successful male actor in Hollywood while Gackt is the most successful male solo singer.

And to say that Tom Cruise is the most successful shows how bad our taste is. Someone says "Gackt it ugly!" or "gackt had plastic surgery" Well guess what? Same goes for Cruise. Big difference is Cruise is a nutcase and can only act...Gackt can sing, write, dance (okay, maybe not dance), and speak 5 langauges. We americans idolize psychos, while an intelligent person like Gackt is picked on for plastic surgery.

To be verbally dexterous is vital to celebrity survival. Here's another FACT: every celebrity has a publicist who prepares him/her for the interviews. For Nicole and her breakup with Tom, her publicist would have provided her with crib notes like this:

When asked to talk about his childhood in an interview, Cruise once answered with:

Basically, he pulled a Norman Rockwell on us. His little talk could mean anything from the Brady Bunch to aberrant and dysfunctional. All that matters is that it flows into the larger script of young-man-on-the-way-to-becoming.

I'm sorry to destroy any delusions about how some celebrities are funny, serious, mysterious or whatnot. Nearly always, the jokes are prepared, rehearsed and planned out long ago to establish the celebrity's 'image' and 'reputation'. It all comes down to those two words. Image and Reputation.

Before you Gackt fans chew me out, I'd like to remind you that I DO respect the guy. He is gifted (or perhaps just plain admirably hardworking) in music and other skills. What gets to me is how easily fans are manipulated by the companies behind these celebrities.

Being a celebrity's fan is fine. In fact it's great, since that's where their income comes from. But I like it when the fans are trully fans of the singer or actor rather than the superficial factors about them.

Gackt's I-am-a-over-500-year-old-vampire thing is pure genius, but I guarantee you that Gackt wasn't the one to think it up (as well as most of his other jokes). He did/does a great job at pulling it off and keeping it on though.

Very true. Fans are typically so obsessed with the celeb (mostly looks) that they don't even think about the fact that their precious idol is not the comical, witty person they think they are.
And as for being a 500 year old psychic vamp....whatever publicist of his came up with that is genius! Ya know...that kinda reminds me of Queen of the Damned, with that rock star who was a vampire.

I resent the idea that his publicist came up with it. Being plagued by the ability to see things others can't is not something to be taken lightly and I doubt it's a publicity stunt. Although it might be. But I think to assume something as serious as that is just for publicity is cruel. He was sent to a motherf**king mental hospital 'cause peopel thought he was insane. That is NOT something to be treated this lightly.

You bring up a good point. And it would seem stupid for a publicist to say something that had Gackt sent to a psych ward.
Also, i remember him saying on Utaban once that his hearing is off a little. And by off meaning more acute, because he could hear high and low frequencies of flourescent lights, rather than the one continuous hum most people hear.

Yes, his pitch is wonderful. I love his voice. I watched a video of him performing Mizerable live, and i was stunned. He sounded exactly the same live as he did in the studio recording and his music video.
Haha, i showed a friend of mine some pics of Gackt, and he's like "are you sure he's straight?" and i'm like "i have no clue, but i don't care, he's awesome." Which brings up a question: what is gackt anyway? Straight, gay, bi, or has he even stated? I could care less what he is, my friend's question just made me curious.

And I hate to rehash, I really do, but I was going back threw this thread and found something that really bothered me.

The reason I dislike Hyde is because of his promotion of Satanic imagry, without knowing the first thing about the dark lord. His dawning of such things as the pentacol, and the numeric image of the 3 six's, its just offensive to me, as a Satanist. He's using it apparently as some sort of ploy for taking his image into a different direction, or something. That irritates me.

Hyde is not a Satanist and isn't trying to be. He doesn't believe in any deity whether it be the Holy Spirit or the Dark Lord.
I don't believe the title of his second album, "666", really has all that horribly much to do with actual Satanism. Yes, the album has it's dark elements and yes Hyde did say once that he preferred the Devil over Angels. But respect for the Devil and belief in the Devil are two different things. I really don't think the album title or any of the lyrics are ploys to get attention or to change his image to that of someone like say Marilyn Manson (who, for the record, I love).

I guess one could take the above stanza from "Words of Love" off of "666" as sending a Satanic message but really it isn't. He's using a metaphor for loneliness I believe. I don't see how it's anything to get upset over. When he uses Christian imagery as a metaphor people don't seem to give a s**t really so they shouldn't for the opposite either.
For instance:
"We'll say goodbye, Lost Heaven
How we longed for Heaven
We're letting go of something we never had
Time goes so fast, Heaven is lost"
Now do you see Christians getting worked up over that? No. Does the stanza mean Hyde's converted to Christianity or is using it for his image? No. Hyde is a devout atheist. I don't believe he means any disrespect when using religious imagery or metaphors.
