.... but it's true, dammit! If I say that, I think people think I'm just saying it to be nice or something, or in a pretentious arty way (no one is ugly when you've drawn them). But I really believe it.

I speak my mind, although I do (unfortunatly!!!) care what people think of me I don't stop to think about that. Gets me in lotsa trouble but allows me to spout all that without censoring myself and worry about how people are gonna take it. 'Cause I believe it wholeheartedly too. I really do.

I think it's damn rude to call anyone ugly, whether they are or not. 
Well, like Hyde said, no one being truly ugly, in any case. But it annoys me that some people think it's OK to call famous people ugly because they aren't doing it to their face and because they have lots of fans. Since when was that an excuse for being insulting?

All of you people who have the audacity to talk about Gackt being ugly need a serious crack on the head. How dare you talk about him like that. Did he ever talk about the ugliness that you have in you.
I think that you are all jealous of his natutal beauty compared to your own natural ugliness. Even if he has has plastic surgery you are jealous of his ability to buy beauty and your inablilty to ever have beauty natural or bought.
The fact that you have time to sit here and talk bad about him shows how enthralled with him you are. I have never taken this much time of my life to talk about someone that I find ugly or unattractive.

Well...seeing as those MJ pics are ooold...and lookin at him now, he doesn't look like MJ. Maybe gackt is a plastic surgery junkie...but he knows how to do it right (or the surgeons over there do). MJ screwed his face over and now it hates him, Gackt made his face look nice and youthful. And really, people bash plastic surgery...but if you had the money to correct some flaws on you, wouldn't you do it? I probably would.
His music is great, i find him attractive (and i scare myself when i say that, since i'm a guy), and i can't believe this thread started in '04!

I've read so much about how Gackt is "fun to tease" and "funny" in his interviews. Seriously, have you all no idea what goes on behind the scenes? I don't claim to have huge experience, but from the media and communications department I've worked with enough entertainment companies to see the general pattern. I think it's safe to assume that the Japanese music industry is somewhat similar to America's and Australia's.
Contracted under a huge company, every question the interviewer intends to ask Gackt must be shown beforehand and be given the 'ok' from Gackt's manager.
Every interview goes through at least one rehearsal. The interview schedules are sent out weeks before the actual screening time to ask if Gackt (or any other celebrity) can do it. Then Gackt has a good week or so to prepare what he has to say and how to say it.
Before Gackt even stepped on the stage, one of the very first things a celebrity must master is how to 'step-around-the-question'. Gackt is an expert at this. I won't go into detail but his answers are either ridiculous and "funny" or just generally vague and "seem" to answer the question (but really doesn't.)
A general celebrity rule is that the less you know of the celebrity the better. What do we really know about Gackt?
Gackt isn't his real name.
We know nothing really about his family other than he has a sister and parents etc.
We don't know his age and his company's gone as far as to state it themselves.
We know nothing of his origins.
He likes Led Zepplin's stairway to heaven.
On the other hand, we know that:
It takes him an impossible amount of time to cook curry.
He one point in time he had to have sex at least once a day.
He learns his moves from the matrix.
He was US army officers as his bodyguards.
He's psychic.
He's a vampire.
He's also a list of other crazy things that will hurt by brain if I try to remember too hard.
To be clear here, I'm not trying to insult or target Gackt in particular. Nearly all celebrities, actors or singers, conduct themselves in the same way. And before all the Gackt fans kill me, let me defend myself by saying that I DO respect and like his music, my favourite still being 'Vanilla', but it really annoys me when I hear others raving on about how they love him (and often his music) because and based on his looks.
Gackt is a talented musician with many amazing skills beyond just music. I can't help but admire his ability to speak so many languages and his mastery of so many instruments. But people, PLEASE, can't Gackt fans place his musical talent before his makeup artist and manager? Because by raving on about his looks and 'funny personality' you're really just flattering the staff that's working behind the curtains and not Gackt.
