Just discovered this thread, hey, lots of things to make me laugh on here, both for and against Gackt! Can't believe how damn long it is (the thread I mean, not.......****!!!) Although I really like some of Gackt's music, it's good to know not everyone out there completely worships the guy's looks, moves, ground he walks on, etc... :-)

I've read some of his autobiography, but only in English translation, so it's difficult to know if he's arrogant or not... I remember he says about his ability in some instruments so much better than some other guys of the same time (when he was young) and there are other bits where he comes across as arrogant, too, but I didn't know whether maybe that was just the way it sounded in translation. In fact, to me it didn't seem like he was saying at any point that he thinks he's great or anything... it seemed more like he felt insecure in some ways and was acknowledging that. I think he only meant to say that he was very competitive.

I think he is a talented musician (even if I don't like all his stuff!)... Looks-wise, he isn't really my cup of tea. I quite liked him in the Malice Mizer 'Illuminati' phase, but I think that was mainly just the overall style, costumes etc... He's a bit too feminine for my taste in blokes, fit but a little on the skinny side for my liking and his face I think is 'on the good side of average' if you know what I mean (no, I'm not going to even discuss the plastic surgery thing - I think it's irrelevant). Although, having said that, I couldn't promise that if I met him in a club I wouldn't think he was hot, lol. :-)

I really can't understand how people can practically worship some musicians. Purleeeeese! Gimme a break! There's loads of music that I like, but as far as its creators go, well, if they look hot, that's a bonus, but I really couldn't give a sh*t about their lives, what they have for breakfast, what colour underwear they wear, how many kilos they weigh etc. etc... I just can't believe that people really do obsess over stuff like that.

I agree with the obsession bit. It's kind of sad/pathetic if you ask me when people want to know all this crap about a celebrity, especially since I bet they'd get all pissy if someone did that to them and whatnot.

And I also agree that hotness is only a (major) bonus! xDD

But, one thing here...Gackt? Feminine? What the hell...? He's like one of the most masculin guys in JRock! Almost EVERYONE else I've seen are WAY more feminine then him. At least he actually looks like a man kind of thing! So I don't really get why you'd think he was "too feminine", unless you don't like (most) other JRockers either?

But yeah, I'm going to shut up now...Hehe...😌

In the UK, we have an icecream called "Magnum". I've never been able to look at them without laughing since reading *that* interview!!! :giggle:

I guess it's hard to tell what any J-rockers look like without their makeup on. Except maybe for L'arc en ciel...?

Anyway, who cares what I think about Gackt's looks? It's not as if I'll ever meet him.

He may look beautiful and pretty, but doesn't act like a queer or gay, but rather manly and tough. I mean, the way he sits, legs wide open. And his voice, deeeeep.
All this makes him quite sexy.
And he works like a horse to get all the shows, tours and music done.
Although you may not like his music, you can't deny the fact he has talent, composes his own music, writes own lyrics, plays several instruments, etc.

Here we go again (sorry to anyone who sickens of this, but it is my moral duty...And I promise I'll be nice...R...xDD)...: there is no set behavior for a "queer", or "gay", or whatever. They can be as feminine as a little girl or as manly, if not more so, than a frigging wrestler or a body builder! So, yeah, a gay man can be tough and manly too thank you EVER-so much...Oh! And vice versa with straight men as well! :eek:

Plus, I have a tendency to sit with my legs open (and no twisting that please) from time to time, but does that make me tough and manly? I don't think so! And, another thing I MUST ask, how does sitting with your legs open imply that you're manly anyway, hmm?

Oh! And many, many, MANY people would gladly, and I mean GLADLY, argue with you that Gackt does indeed act "queer" and "gay" just to let you know...

And people have a different view on talent. That may just be what they don't like about him. Crappy music, crappy lyrics, et cetera. In their opinion I mean of course...





And look people! I didn't even rant THAT much! xD
