Well, I got pasport renewed the other day after letting it lapse for a year and a bit and I thought I would share an interesting story(well I thought it was interesting).
I went through all the paper work and filled in all the forms (I had already sent in my old passport so I did not have that) and then it came to the signature part , mind you I was a little worried as I had only signed my name maybe 2 or three times over the last 12 years since the passport was issued and the last time was probably over 8 years ago. So I signed away and was waiting for the lady to ask me why my signature had changed so much since my last passport (I knew it would be different) and she says that she hasn't seen anyone who's signature had not changed at all. She showed me the signatures and they were for the most part identical. Suffice to say I was blown away.
Anyway, just a funny story from another gaijin that uses a couple of trusty "hanko's" to get through daily life.
