Anyone else watching the eclipse in northern Europe right now?

I'm here in the UK and it's quite incredible, such a clear night, I feel very lucky and quite 'connected' to the universe :)

Two minutes now till total 'ecipse' of the moon perhaps, lol.

Sure hope the rest of you guys in northern Europe will see this tonight, such a clear night :)

:cracker:

Ah well, just missed a total eclipse, but so very beautiful, and as a wise man once sang:

'look at the stars - look how they shine for you, and every thing you do'

Indeed! Peace to all, oyasumi nasai!

:music2: 🕺 :cracker: 😇

We were also supposed to see the eclipse of the moon in North America - not sure if I actually saw it or if it was just the redness of the moon rise! :59:

I do love watching the moon wax and wane. I wish if I could see a total eclipse with my own eyes...
😍

I heard that the next one is 21st February 2008 in Europe.
I'm afraid my chance is really slim, like a new moon.
:(

Hm. Now I understand why that man in the street last night was taking picture of the sky.. 😌 I just walked past him..

I wish I had seen it, but it was too cloudy in Vienna yesterday! :(

Haha, shame on You, leonmarino! :p

Many thanks for your replies, fellow moon-lovers, very glad to hear some saw it! 🙏

There're already a few videos of it on Youtube, but I can't find any really good ones. I'm sure there will be more in the next few days.

Reading about it today, it seems that it was a total eclipse. I'd thought it wasn't, because there was always still a light edge at the top of the moon, but apparently this is just a feature of that type of total eclipse.

Last night made me think of people in long-ago times, and what the significance for them of seeing the moon disappear and turn red might have been. It really was powerful stuff! The sky was completely clear, and my beloved Orion was there looking glorious :)

Poor leonmarino, lol, your comment did make me chuckle!

A nice pic from the BBC news site:

yeh it happened last nite here in egypt too, no wonder i heard the adhan from the mosque loudspeakers and it was even a prayer time.
But i didnt get to see it, i was too busy in the middle of a chess game 😄

Thought this place was more appropriate for the thread....

unfortunately i missed the eclipse :( but when i came home at around 7 there was full yellow moon admist the blue sky...it looked like a freshly painted canvas, i don't know that this was related to the eclipse cuz is rather strange to see a full yellow colored moon shinin in the early moments of daylight ...

I've seen it very clearly, almost from beginning till end. It was nice indeed, especially at the end when the moon got a red colour like Mars..

I also wanted to see it, but we had such a terrible storm here last night!
😭

I saw it on Saturday night, I was in the pub listening to a live band and they stopped the set so everyone could go outside and watch it. It was cool! 😆

Kinsao, don't remind me I haven't seen it. I saw so many great photos, and I'm so sad I wasn't able to see it myself :(

I saw it too ^_^ I was having a party in a mountain cottage, and me and some friends went out to see the Moon! Woah, it was so red *_* so cool!

I missed it. No fair! I suppose that's what I get for having my boyfriend over. lol. :p

lol i saw it but tbh i was a tad disapointed :( i expected it to be bigger and reder like the one of Wolf's Rain XD. Ahh well it was still cool ^^
