I just got back from going to the gym for the first time in about a half a year. It felt SO GREAT! I wish I hadn't been forced to stop going for reasons beyond my control...

Anyway, do you work out? Even just a little? If not, I highly recommend it! It's painful for the very first couple of weeks, but after that it feels really good to get the adrenaline flowing through your body on a regular basis!

Yes! I used to do it everyday but now I'm too busy.My muscles are still here!
:P

Yep. Been going to a gym now for the past nine months and I can tell the difference. Decent gym, well I say gym, but they call themselves a health club. As well as the equipment there is a swimming pool so if I feel that I don't want a hard work out I just go swimming instead

I love working out, and I try to go three times a week.. Lately I'm really busy so it's been like two times a week, but still, it's great. I always feel awkard if I don't go for longer than a week.. 😌 I'm eating much healthier since I started working out, which is also a plus.

What gym do you go to Mikawa? In Nagasaki I went to a Konami's (I think they're all over Japan) a couple of times, and they had baths too, to relax after a work-out.. Man oh man oh man, a jacuzzi, massage bath, herb bath, cold bath, normal bath, bath outside and three different kind of sauna's!! Feels like heaven on earth after a heavy work-out!! 👍

I work out 4-5 times a week. I could say more, as getting out of the bed actually feels like a workout sometimes!

I started seriously working out this year to win a few bets and just generally feel better about my appearance and it's amazing how much more health-conscious I've become. I used to laugh at people who "watched what they ate" because of how they limited themselves in terms of delicious food, but I've learned that you can watch what you eat and still take in a hamburger or fried chicken on an occasional basis.

So far this year, I've dropped about 50 lbs (now 5'9" 180) and I lift and do cardio 5 times a week. Staring at girls at the gym helps me keep my motivation up...there's nothing like girls in the gym to get me to run that extra mile or push that extra set. :D

Wow that's impressive MeAndroo!! 👍
I wish I had the time to go five times a week.. I do go more often during the uni's summer or winter recesses. I especially like it in the summer; working out real hard, eating a lot and then off to the beach!! :D

5 days a week weight lifting no cardio
About 1 - 1 1/2hrs each day
Work a different set of muscles groups each day and change muscle groups each week/day
Example:
Monday Legs
Tuesday Shoulders/Traps
Wednesday Back
Thursday Arms/ Abs
Friday Chest
Been going for about a 11 months now.

I need to work my brain muscles out...

I jog, squats, curls, french curls(triceps), and crunches with free weights 3 times a week. I think you get the most benefit by working out in the morning even though getting out of soft and cozy bed is as hard as like, waiting for your steak to be cooked on the grill.

I was regularly working out till just a few weeks ago. Got sick, and as is usual with getting sick, my left lower leg swelled right up (getting sick and swollen legs are somehow always connected. If I get sick I will later have a swollen lower left leg, if I get a lower swollen left leg I will likely get sick. It's just a part of having my condition). My leg still hasn't completely recovered, so for the time being I'm just resting.

I dislike the gym. I've often got to wait for some guy to finish their three sets on some gym equipment, it takes too much time out of my time to get there and get back, I don't want to worry about gym fashion, and I'm just not at all into socializing at the gym (but I also don't want to be rude).

I do a bodyweight exercise workout at home. Just before I got sick I had learned how to do the one-legged squat with good form. I was also working towards a one-arm push-up. Ross Enamait's book Never Gymless was well worth the little he charges for it.

I go to a little local place called ニ地ニ陳債ー. There's no pool or jacuzzis or anything like that, but it's very reasonably priced and the guy who runs it used to be a bodybuilder, so he knows what he's talking about.

Around here there's a place called "Holiday" that's pretty big. They're open until midnight and have a pool, etc., but they cost a lot more to join than where I'm going now. Also it's much further out. I can walk to the place I currently go to, but if I wanted to go to Holiday I'd have to jump in the car for a while.

Lol, I should work-out more! Especially because we are having our wedding ceremony in March next year! I do want to look good.

So pump that body.. HEEEE HEEE .. PUMP IT!!!!!!!

( I do ride the bicycle for 30minutes, walk 20-30minutes plus teach elementary school kids every day!!! is this working out as well )

Yes, it is Dave. Especially teaching elementary school kids everyday is physically and mentally demanding.

I work out regularly, almost everyday in some shape or fashion. I have a pretty strict regimen that allows me to stay healthy and keep my metabolism high. Even now at 35 years of age I can still perform the minimum for a lot of the the RECON Marine advance training standards.

80 pushups in under 2min.
80 situps in under 2min.
20 pullups (from a dead hang, the last 5 kill me though...)

I absoultely abhor distance-running though so not too strong in that department. I wasn't always a lean, mean 67kg. As many of you now I once weighed in at 107kg only a couple years ago. Diet and excercise... what else can you say? I have never stepped foot inside a gym though believe it or not. Too many distractions I think and i'm no narcissist. Better for me to just come home after work, put on my music, stretch, and take care of business.

Funny I would find this thread today, because we actually went to the gym at school during the P.E. lesson today, since we have no gym-hall and the rain was puring down like a waterfall outside.

I don't normally work out, but now to prepare for the next bikini-season (you gotta start early!) I've made up a work out schedule that I will follow every week, meaning I'll work out 4 days a week, 2 days of running for better condition and 2 days of strenght training. I'll start next week actually. ^^; So the schedule is pure fresh and I'll have a hell the coming month... 😊

Yeah, I have to work out.
I took a year off (of working out) after my senior year of high school. I weighed about 165 lbs at the time. After that year of no working out, I got back into it in the summer of 2005, working out 3 days a week, and the other two day I just do sit ups and push ups with a running program. Weekends I rest. I now weigh 194 at 6'2. I am not sure If I'm over weight or under weight. A couple of Math equations will help me figure that out.
After you work out. You don't really feel the desire for any sweets or other various fattening foods. To me anyway.

I think it's a must.

Working out also works out your brain. It keeps you sharp.

I don't work out, but I need to start. It's just not as much fun as eating junk food, smoking, watching TV, chatting online, talking on the phone, etc. :D

Actually, I think working out is a lot of fun! I have certain long-term goals, and seeing the results, however subtle, is great! Also, that feeling of being worn out after a workout eventually turns from one of agony to one of a subdued kind of pleasure. It's hard to explain, but I like it.

When I can rachet up the weight, if only a little, I'm so happy, and it's a great feeling to go back to the weights you started at just for kicks and see how easy it has become. When I do that and remember how difficult it used to be, I feel so proud of myself!

Yeah, I work out. I started a couple years ago because I was tired of looking like all those other skinny as hell japanese males (no offense skinny japanese males). Being physically healthy just makes me feel better, and this way I won't have a heart attack (so soon) from drinking or smoking too much, and I feel its important to respect one's body.

When I lived in Kobe, I also used to love jogging from Shioya to Maiko. The beautiful beaches, palm trees, parks, and the akashi o-hashi always kept it interesting.

Just thought I'd add a superb forum I found not too long ago on bodyweight exercises. They've got guides to some of the most difficult bodyweight exercises, as well as a host of extremely knowledgable guys on there. The twenty levels are also a great place to look for new exercises, as well as some of the alternatives that people post. Both strength and conditioning can be increased incredibly with bodyweight alone.

I started a new workout today. I have a goal to get back to 180lbs by New Years...down from 202lbs.

I don't work out at the gym any more. A couple of years ago I used to go 3 - 5 times a week, and I did this for about 18 months. Loved it!!! 👍 Exercise makes me feel great. But I was putting on weight in terms of muscle. I went from right at the bottom of my recommended range to somewhere near the top. So I quit. I lost about 14lbs since I quit working out. But a couple of months ago I felt I have to exercise again or go crazy! I really hate being static! So now, I exercise at home (dance 😎 ), and that suits me fine. :-) Also it doesn't cost me anything! ^_^ (The gym was becoming a little difficult for me to afford :( ) I also do push-ups and sit-ups twice a day. :p

I'd go insane without exercise... I'm too damn restless... my body just needs to be on the move all the time >_< (I'm happiest when I'm doing some constant exercise all day, like cycling for the whole day or walking ^^) and dammit if I don't have a static job... :( so I have to do something, and I love to dance! 😎 😄

@Kinsao: You should produce your own electricty. Wire up a bike and off you go! :-)

Personally, I do 8-10km runs twice or thrice a week and play football (soccer for all the US citizens) once or twice a week. And then there is a pair of weights I use to keep my carpet down (and lift about ten times once a week before getting bored).
I'm pretty much a runner.
