do you listen to songs of different languages?

i guess it is only natural that people mainly listen to songs of their first language

many people from other countries listen to English songs,but what about people from the English-speaking countries? :?

I know there are Canadians,Americans that only listen to English songs,I don't know why,maybe the mass media is part of the cause? like we don't see Asian artists on MTV or MuchMusic here,okay,maybe a few like the rapper Jin,but he is a Chinese American that raps in English, any Asian artists if they want to break into the western market they must sing in English

I listen to songs of some languages I don't even understand, maybe because I started to listen to Japanese songs when I was very little

Well, I've been listening to J-Pop (most notably, Pink Lady, Candies, Wink, PuffyAmiYumi) for the longest time now. Even though you can't understand a foreign language shouldn't take away from how nice a particular brand of music is. To limit yourself to the language you grew up with limits your appreciation for other brands of music. And I try not to do that!

Tell me about it! I mean about being weird, because I'm the only one in the family who's in to this.

I don't have a problem listening to songs with lyrics other than english. I just sort of feel the beat and listen to the melody and let them take over sort of analyzing what the song means. I have anime soundtracks, tribal chants, spanish songs, mariachis and many others. What I can say is that my interest in other cultures was sparked by opening my mind to another country's music.

I mainly listen to english and swedish music, but i've got some songs from other languages too. Sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the music without understanding and thinking about what's being said.
