Simple question. Do you possess a sense of humor? Are you able to joke and relax around people or are you a hardass most of the time?

Seems to me that many people are wound too tightly and just can't perceive humor.

What do you think?

Well, I consider myself as having a sense of humor...most of the time, at least. Most of the people I hang out with or meet often enough, seem to me to have a fairly balanced sense of humor. I do have to deal with some who have more narrow senses of humor than I'd think healthy, but they still have one. Then again, there are times when I meet some with an unusual sense of humor.

I actually think it depends on the culture, background, and people surrounding that person especially while he/she's being raised. You can even notice some lil buggers today with a sense of humor and some are just shy or serious. All in all, it depends on whether you eat fruits or not. Because fruits are very healthy to the human body and stimulate the humor cells in ur large intestine. Therefore, my conclusion is.. eat vegetables.

(damn.. looks like i dont got a sense of humor...)

I like silly things Japanese tv shows really make me laugh and things like Norman Wisdom and Jim Carrey

Haha!! You made me laugh out loud anyway!! :D But I take it you mean it that fruits and vegetables are good for your sense of humour? Might be!!

Anyway, I don't think of myself as having a sense of humour. I can be very serious and uptight.. But then again, there are also times when I like to joke around and stuff. I dunno. I guess it is not up to myself to say if I have a sense of humour or not.

Why this sudden interest CC1? 😊

I have just been making observations that many people lacka sense of humor, or at least have a very dry sense of humor.

I find many things funny...including when people poke fun at me. I have very thick skin, so I don't take things too personally.

No real reason though, I just wanted to kinda feel people out. I like to see how people view themselves. It is always interesting to take your view of a person and compare it to the way they view themselves. Some people truly live in a bubble it seems!

I consider myself the hard type. Probably due to city life i had. However, i love to joke or laugh with friends ,which is much better.

My a** is as hard as a brick in the wall.

I'm known to laugh at things that most people find unfunny.

Well, although I think I lack (insuffience of something, not being enough) a sense of humour sometimes, I think a sense of humour and the ability to relativate (is that a English word?) is essential in one's pursue of happiness. :-)

? ? ?

Totally boring and dull; never been able to make anyone come close to a smile!

:p 😊 😌 :-)

I'll give you all an example of something I found hilariously funny. You can then judge for yourselves about my sense of humor.

I remember congregating with my family on the day of my father's funeral at my aunt's house. That day, it seemed like every obscure relative whom I had never met decided to show up to pay their respects. There was one particularly rotten little bastard (8 or 9 years old) who kept running around hooting and howling like it was a circus while everyone ate and chit-chatted soberly. The mood was somber and the occasion far from festive and the boy's mother made no attempt to calm him down.

My aunt happens to have two Dalmatians, one a little bigger than your average breed. Apparently the sight of this high-strung little boy running around outside caught the apple in his eye... A few minutes later, while I was talking to a relative I heard a sudden high-pitched shrill. Looking around, I could see my aunt's dog on top of the boy, pinning him down spread-eagle face-first in the lawn all the while going to town... For some reason the surreal sight of this little snot in his Sunday best (complete with bowtie) and my Aunt's dog dry humping him like there was no tomorrow just made me laugh. I realized then that I was the only one... everyone else just looked on in absolute horror, first at the boy and his canine and then at me.

So yeah... that was funny. 8-)

HILLARIOUS! XD

I had to physically restrain myself to keep from laughing at the top of my lungs when I read that. (I'm pulling an all-nighter at the office and my buisness partner is trying to get some sleep under the desk)

Of course, I do have a very twisted sense of humour... :devilish:

Oh, sure, I have a sense of humor----a silly one! :D

At the office, me and one of my co-workers who also has a silly sense of humor spend most of the day trading lousy quips and jokes that make everyone else cringe from how bad they are. But we have fun.

:-)

Hmm I do have a sense of humor, but only people that know me well know that I do because I always seem REALLY serious, so people that don't know me are always horrifed and give me ghastly looks because of my preference for dark humor. Though I personally find this amusing for myself when it happens hehe

I have a sense of humour. But... I'm not always sure whether it's the same as everyone else's.

Sometimes it is... rather inappropriate. 🙇‍♂️ And unappreciated. :(

Oh my! This post about humour is full of such dejected smilies! 😭

I rest my case.

No!

I also petition that this thread is too relaxed and must be eliminated from this forum.

J/K!

I've been compared to Conan O'brien. I don't know if they mean that I'm funny or just plain out goofy looking.

I have a sense of humour. I just keep it to myself when dealing with anyone not in my inner circle because people have a habit of being offended by it.

It's not my fault I have an active imagination and the mental image of death by giant snowball is funny to me. Especially if you add sound effects like "Rumble........... fhoomp". :(

Re-telling the story of my moms first encounter those birth control pills that stop you from having periods doesn't always go over well either.
