It's very subjective. If you go to see Alexriversan's blog where you can see a bigger pcture, you will agree that it's highly possible. I've seen at least a handful of Asians /Japanese who would look not too different from Alexriversan.
Secondly, it's all in the mind; if you are serious in the study of a culture, the whole world that you've known all your lofe transforms into a new world belonging to the new culture. Perhaps Alexriversan is deeply in love with Japanese studies, or have recently found a wonderful Japanese lady that he secretly admires ?

Heh... Alex, hun, if there is a stereotypical "white guy" then it's you in that picture. (note that I haven't seen the other pictures on your blog that I saw mentioned)

I mean, I come from an Irish descent family, and while I don't show it as much (Am. Indian father and Irish mom--I'm fairskinned when I'm not tanned, but if I tan, I TAN) my brother (technically, half-brother but we were raised together with our mom and his dad) is just as "white" as you. Except, he has red hair to complete his look of typical white guy.
