Can't read all the Japanese text

I am in japan at the moment and when i received a japanese email, I wasn't able to read the text... I can read other japanese emails fine. Its just that person..

I can read some, but there other text is all messed up..
the bit between the *** is the messed up part.. Is there something I need to download to interpret it ?

It's been mangled. The sort of problem that turns up sometimes with Yahoo Groups posts - are you or is he using web-based email?

It can probably be (mostly) repaired with some effort if you're technically minded. (There are probably exactly two damaged characters)

If you want I'll PM you my email address and I can try to fix it (you should, if at all possible, forward the original as an attachment to your email otherwise it probably won't be possible to do anything with it).

i finally got it in the end.
i managed to download the message (i was using the web based email) and then i opened it up in microsoft word and found an encoder that worked..

Ah as you probably realise by now I got your PM before reading this.

As far as web based email goes - Sign In is usually OK. I've heard of problems specifically with Yahoo and webmail provided by your ISP is usually 'lowest common denominator'.

yeah, it was a webmail provided by my ISP...
but other emails are ok, it is just that one person.
At least i know how to read it now if the problem arises again
