I've lived in both locations and you will do better in the latter.

I live in North Carolina also, in Jacksonville. I have resided in NYC, Philadelphia, Oahu, Dade-Metro FL, and in a number of places around the world. I live in Jacksonville, NC by choice.

I live in Austin, Texas. It's a very lovely city with a young, liberal and highly-educated population. What it's doing in the middle of Texas, I have no idea.
